The Tuscan Wanderer — Local services in Lucca

We had a fantastic time touring several cities in the Chianti area. Communication and planning were perfect, efficient, and flexible ( we had last minute changes). Giovanni is perfectly fluent in English( he lived in America) and understands his clientele well. We had a mixed group of Europeans and Americans and he understood our expectations/ backgrounds; anticipating questions and thoroughly explaining things. He was very approachable and likeable, we were at ease and comfortable asking questions. Even our introverted teenagers :-). Giovanni is an excellent driver ( I have been in Italy before and used other services that were a bit frightening…). He is very attentive and knows how to navigate the chaos of Florence city center. His van was pristine and he had a cooler with water for everyone. I especially appreciated how he was able to break the ice among us as the common friend to all of us had to cancel last minute). He kept things light and helped us all reconnect and forge new friendship. Much like a conductor! Also Giovanni gave us just the right amount of historical facts and anecdotes that were enough to be remembered, but would elaborate if asked. Giovanni dropped us all in several little towns and gave us general directions and sent us a pin of when and where he would be waiting for us. This was also great considering the extreme heat, he was able to keep the van cool for our return. Absolutely recommend to groups of friends and families...

We recently had the pleasure of exploring the beautiful Tuscan countryside with Roberto. From the moment we met him, he was so friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about the region, making this the best experience! We stopped at the quaint Piazza Matteotti first for some delicious baked goods and espresso. From there we went to Montefioralle which had breathtaking views. Our lunch was at a local Tuscan winery Sant’Appiano, the food and wine was amazing and everyone there was so warm and welcoming! We ended the trip at San Gimignano which was an incredible experience, we felt like we were in a movie set. Roberto was knowledgeable about the area and talked about the history along the way. He answered our questions and let us enjoy each place we visited, stopping at some of the perfect spots to take photos. He made the whole experience feel like a special journey with a friend. From start to finish, The Tuscan Wanderer provided an impeccable experience. We were ten family members ranging from 3 to 78 years old, traveling to Rome, Naples, and the Amalfi Coast.
