A Sandwich Experience to Remember

If there was a Nobel Prize for sandwiches, Fiaschetto in Lucca would be the runaway winner. I’m not just talking about any old sandwich—this was a symphony of flavors that made my taste buds want to sing “O Sole Mio.”

Let’s set the scene: It was almost closing time, and the stars were aligning against my sandwich dreams. But then, like a culinary superhero, the owner swooped in with a warm smile and a wave, welcoming me in despite the ticking clock. If this isn’t sandwich love, I don’t know what is.

I quickly ordered what can only be described as a masterpiece between two slices of bread. As I bit into it, I was transported to a world where sandwiches reign supreme, and I was the crowned king. The bread was perfectly crusty, the meats were savory with a hint of magic, and the cheeses were so divine they must have been crafted by dairy gods.

But wait, there’s more! Fiaschetto isn’t just about sandwiches. Oh no, they also offer an array of meat, sausage, and cheese products that will make you want to build a second stomach just to enjoy more of their offerings. It’s like a Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory for grown-up foodies, minus the Oompa-Loompas and unpredictable candy effects.

The real kicker? Not only did I get to savor this ambrosial delight, but the owner let me linger for a few extra minutes past closing. It’s not every day you meet someone who understands that a good sandwich deserves to be savored, not rushed.

In conclusion, if you find yourself in Lucca and you miss out on Fiaschetto, you might need to reassess your life choices. Fiaschetto is not just a place to eat; it’s a place where sandwich dreams come true. Thank you, Fiaschetto, for turning a regular day into a gourmet adventure. And a big shoutout to the owner for proving that sometimes, all you need is a sandwich to restore your faith...

We stopped for lunch based on the great reviews and at it was very nice. Would recommend!

There are 3 small tables inside, each for 2 people. Good atmosphere and music, the staff was super kind and English speaking. Card payment possible without problems.

The sandwiches were good and fresh. Admittedly they didn't blow me away as much as I expected based on the excellent reviews, but I would still recommend this place as a very solid option for lunch or a snack, and the possibilities of picking ingredients to "build your own sandwich" seem endless for such a small place.

I was a bit surprised by the price of the Frantoiana soup - it didn't have a price listed and I wanted to try it since it's very traditional for Lucca. It was fine, but prepared in advance and only microwaved on the spot, and the 10.50€ that were charged for it seemed like a lot. To be fair though, I have not compared prices with other places as we were only in Lucca for a few hours so maybe it's an...

Friendly service, staff speak good English so not to worry if you are not confident speaking Italian. The bread was really delicious, crunchy on outside, soft on the inside, not chewy at all, and the fillings were very flavourful. Packed nicely in a bag for us so we could take to have a little picnic on the walls. Would definitely recommend for lunch and visit again. I ordered a vegetarian sandwich with salsa verde and roast vegetables and added in cheese, it was super delicious. Cost for mine was €9.50 (cheese €2 extra) my partner’s was a meat sandwich and was €10.50

We had walked by here previously and it was really busy. Walking past today we stopped as it was quiet. We ordered 2 sandwiches both were super tasty. One was Gorgonzola and spicy salami the other Raw ham, lettuce and caramelised onion. The service was really nice and friendly and the lady behind the counter spoke great English. After we had finished our lunch we even tried a local tomato and bread dish that was delicious. I would highly recommend this great little place.
