We were disappointed. Maybe we got unlucky on the night, maybe we got non preferential treatment due to not being Italian; who knows?
We looked at reviews and saw mixed responses recently but we gave it a chance regardless. The place is nice and has a real Italian tavern feel to it; not fancy and this is exactly what we liked the sound of. A lot of things could be better based on our experience here however.
We paid a significant amount of money but the food didn't live up to it. The mixed grill was unseasoned and bland. Also it came to us so quickly that we knew immediately it must have been pre cooked and just kept warm and put on the plate.
The staff weren't rude but they didn't seem very happy or enthusiastic about serving us either. We had to ask for additional flavouring like lemon for the meat and oil for the salad; as if us non Italians are all gastronomically uneducated and eat everything plain or with mayonnaise. The house wine was of decent quality and the price was good.
It's a shame because with some small adjustments our experience could have been great and this could have been a five star review. We wish the owners and staff...
Read moreGood advice on the selection a bottle of red wine, starter was so so but what can go wrong with king prawns. Ordered a nice Argentinian steak and a tuna steak but probably the biggest waste of money spent in sant teresa. We received two different pieces of meat. One piece was full of fat, not tender at all and not really eatable. The other “tiny” piece was ok to be fair. The tuna steak, well you know if you get almost 500 grams of tuna meat it ain’t good! Didn’t even eat the half of it and was worried I get sick while swallowing. I am not a food critic, seriously, I never even thought of writing a review before now! I love food, and don’t mind paying for good food. Either they give locals different cuts of meat and or better quality produce but as a tourist paying 72.50 euros for this was by far one of the biggest wastes of money spent on Sardinia. Still have three...
Read moreAs a family business I want you to succeed and do well. But unfortunately the Porceddu was barely warm and really dry. It lacked salt. 25 euro a portion which was supposed to be 300g, there were too many bones, and I found it really overvalued. The saving grace was the potatoes which were nice. The staff looked really annoyed and flustered, and with no music, it brings the energy down. Waited 25 minutes for someone to take our drink order. All these things are easily fixable and I wish you well. It was a disappointing experience...
