Porchetteria Centrale — Restaurant in Macerata

Wandered into this little spot unexpectedly. Didn't even see a menu. Just watched the locals were getting, pointed at the daily dish, and said "2 of those" ... was not disappointed. Easily one of the best meals we had during 12 days of touring Italy (including stops in Rome and Venice). The flavors are incredible, the ingredients fresh, and it seemed like the chef put a lot of attention and love into his cooking. I can't vouch that they'll have the same exact meal we had every day, but I can say that whatever is cooked up, it's going to be quality and tasty. The place is really cute, right in the middle of one of the main squares in town, and if you blink you'll miss it. But if you're in Macerata, this MUST be a destination. Bonus points to chef for trying to use google translate to explain different drinks that we never heard of before - he was very friendly and you could tell that locals frequent there for lunch and they were loyal to the spot. 6...

Posto gradito. Vista sulla piazza Panino croccante e caldo. Porchetta molto delicata e speziata. Possibilità di mettere tutte le salse esistenti. Avrei dato 5 stelle con tutto il cuore perché meritava però, a differenza dell'altro panino preso dalla mia ragazza che è da 5 stelle effettivamente, il mio lo reputo da 4 per il semplice fatto che all'interno c'erano pezzettini duri della porchetta. Ho dovuto aprire più volte il panino durante la mia degustazione al fine di togliere questi piccoli pezzetti rosa simili a piccoli spicchi di vetro, rigidi e difficoltosi da masticare. Magari quando andate state attenti e riferite se qualcosa non vi sembra giusto durante la preparazione perché il panino è stato fenomenale, dettaglio...
