Stay away from here !!! You will pay a high price when eating here. You Will not know the primer for drinks as they are not on the menu. They can charge whatever they want and they do. Also on top of the price you pay 3 euro's per person for service (was not mentioned as menu, only 3 euro's). What service .. a plate and a knife and no smile from the owner? Absolute not fair to charge. When asking for it then the smile came from the owner.... Please don't go here.

OK..die Preise sind der Lage ein wenig angepasst. Dennoch war es lecker. Gute Mittelklasse. Sehr freundliches Personal und witzig zu gleich. Sehr Hundefreundlich und eine saubere Toilette...was auch nicht selbstverständlich ist. Und hier für die anderen Nörgler...es steht ganz deutlich 3,- pro Coperto auf der SpeiseKartenunterlage. Da ist das Trinkgeld inkludiert. Generell...Je besser eine Lage ist, desto höher sind die Preise. Ob Dresden oder München oder auf dem Eiffelturm in Paris. Also nix Touristenabzocke. Wenn es unser Laden wäre würde das Bier und der Espresso auch etwas mehr kosten. Das ist Business. Wir sind in Italien und wer sich ab und an ein wenig beliest, sollte diese Info eigentlich nicht unbekannt sein...was das Coperto betrifft. Man kann sich auch vorher im klaren sein...möchte ich für 40,- euro 3 Personen satt bekommen, muss ich mir etwas günstigeres suchen. Wir kommen wieder. Kati & Carsten mit Tori

I was afraid to come here because of the other negative reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised. There are only seats outside, so bring a jacket. The pizza piazzetta was very good, didn't feel at all "frozen" as someone said, and the fish was excellent! The wine was also good and the prices very reasonable. Friendly staff. Nothing to complain about!

I was afraid to come here because of the other negative reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised. There are only seats outside, so bring a jacket. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!! We were charged a LOT more than the menu stated. It is an extra 3€ per person to occupy a seat despite 2 of us not drinking alcohol. Our bill total, for 4 of us, should have been 112€ plus the cost of two sodas. We were charged €154!!Like the other reviewers stated, it is extortion!! Of course, they do not accept credit cards. Additionally, the name of the restaurant is not on any signage. Makes perfect sense, though. If it were, people would find the reviews and avoid it. It's not until you get the bill that you see the name of the restaurant. Oh, there's more... The waitress was beyond rude with us (we're American) and was the polar opposite with two other tables where Italian was spoken. When i asked for clarification on the bill, she raised her voice even louder. If i could rate the restaurant a Zero here, i certainly...

We eat here at least once a month, and is usually our go to place for mussels, although their pasta with missoltino (a local dried fish) is also really good.

They don't accept credit cards; but, there are lots of places in Italy that don't. People shouldn't complain about this as it's one of those things - being able to adjust to the country in which one is travelling is part of being a good traveller.

There are also some really good bottles of wine on offer too.

La Piazzetta also offers gluten free pizza; which, as far as I know, is the only place around Menaggio that offers...

Wonderful food and good staff. We stayed in Menaggio 10 days and ate there 3 times. Pizza was very good and my wife had the lasagne alla bolognese which she liked a lot.

Wonderful setting but there are only 3 servers so service is at a slower pace which we have learned to not only expect but enjoy in Italy and France. Don’t be in a rush. It is about the experience.

It meets rule #1 which is always eat at places on vacation where the customers are speaking the local language. It is a tourist area so you hear other languages but there have always been locals eating there each...
