First of all the Hotel location is perfect. The view can not be better. The rooms and the hotel is clean. The pool is nice.
Pool: The best part of the hotel. You can chill in the first line at the lake and enjoy the view. Get drinks in the bar. The pool was clean and not overcrowded. Its in the middle of the city still in a separeted area behind the hotel. The only things is that there are only 6 x 2 sunbeds, which get reserved from around 9:00 by the others and they do not leave. The other places are not that good to chill a longer time. Be the first. Get your towels to the breakfast and grab one pair for you.
Parking: The hotel has not enough parking spaces. You need to park elsewhere. You can still find a parking spot in the city in 10 min walking radius. The white once are for free. We could park for free on the weekend. Of course its my bad. I could book a parking spot in advance.
Breakfast: The tables have all lakeview and enough space for all guests. The coffee was good, but the variaty of the food was limited. More veggies and fruits would be nice. Also addiotional stuffs for the müsli.
Room: We had a room on the street side. The curch bells goes on at 8:30. Its garanteed that you wake up untile then. Also the cars are getting laud. The windows could have a better isolation. The room was small but enough for our weekend trip. The bathroom was clean and good sized. On the other side of the floor you have rooms with lakeview. I recommend booking the lakeside.
Service: The service personal was nice and helped us with our questions.
Generally I would book again, but only on the lakeside and only for 2-3 nights. I would book a parking spot in advance and try to get up earlier for the breakfast to get a nice place at...
Read moreI stayed here for 2 nights on a trip to Italy recently.
I felt the room was very small and not at all what I had seen in the photos. The door nearly hit the end of the bed when opening and wasn't very roomy for getting around(photo attached was taken from the door into the room so you can see how tiny it was). We also felt they weren't the best soundproofing(our room overlooked the road where the entrance was) and we were woken up in the night to loud motorcycles.
I think the room could be improved by adding a safety lock on the bedroom door as one of the cleaners opened the door completely when we were relaxing in the room and there wasn't anyway for us to have prevented ourselves from being exposed had we been changing etc. The curtains were also completely sheer and didn't allow us any privacy/block out any of the light and our window was completely overlooked by other windows/balcony's so this was frustrating.
The window was lovely though and we felt we had a fairly good view considering we overlooked the street. The church bells that ring often were nice to hear from the room(however be prepared for this if you are a light sleeper) , the bathroom was nice but again had a very sheer curtain over the window which was directly in front of the shower.
The location was great, really beautiful place. Unfortunately it rained whilst we were there so we couldn't use the pool but it appeared really nice.
Overall, considering we paid £290 for 2 nights and breakfast was not included , I dont feel like we received the best room/ experience and probably wouldn't return to this hotel if we were to come to Menaggio again(which we defo...
Read moreI will never stay at this hotel again. The price point for a lake front hotel in Lake Como/Menaggio may be enticing, but my sanity is worth more. Being laughed at by staff and ridiculed is absolutely appalling. Previous reviews are conflicting, however this is my real experience of this hotel.
The staff do not attempt to be hospitable in the slightest. Upon check in I received no information at all, literally just handed my card and on my way. Didn’t even know where my room was, no info on the pool or breakfast. Nothing.
Please note that these rooms have no air cons. They have decoy panels and a random ventilation system, but it doesn’t actually work. This probably wouldn’t be a problem, but as an Australian the heat was even unbearable for me. I asked on my second day what the deal was and she told me the panel needs to be set at a higher temp not a lower temp to cool down which seemed really strange. It then became unbearable and 28° in my room at 11pm (opening the door doesn’t do anything as there is no breeze in Como). I saw on a previous review someone got a fan so I went down to ask for one, and I literally got laughed at by the lobby man when I asked, he immediately was defensive and agitated and flat out extremely rude. He made me feel very uncomfortable. Not to mention, he had a lovely industrial fan at his desk, must be nice.
The hotel is in very average condition, and the wifi does not work.
Lake Como is often most a bucket list destination for most, however this stay completely tainted my experience and I’m leaving feeling underwhelmed and uncomfortable. I strongly consider anyone spending the bit extra for...
