'O Fiore Mio Pizze di Strada — Restaurant in Milan

I’m sorry to write this review as I believe they do the very best pizza slice in Milan. Unfortunately, today I went for a few slices around 4.55pm, with the place closing at 6pm. The owner which I know is kind wasn’t there and the employee has been extremely rude, pushing me to order quickly and, when I mentioned I could get even more slices later in a friendly way, he told me I should complete the entire order then as later he was going to be too busy to serve me! The place was semi empty, nobody was ordering anything else and surely I wouldn’t have taken 1+ hour to finish the slices I got. Incredible pizza spot!! The pizza was SO delicious (thin-crust pizza that’s normally not my favorite, but this truly changed my mind - I loved every single bite of this slice, and it’s Milan’s specialty), incredibly affordable (I think I paid ~6€ for a slice and 2 bottles of water), and moreover the service was incredible. The workers were so kind, and when I told them I had only a few hours in Milan (and was traveling alone), they wrote out a full itinerary for me that took me through all the highlights of the city. This was our first stop in Milan. Late afternoon and we were hungry after a long journey. Regret not getting the name of the gentleman who was behind the counter. This was the BEST INTRO to our Italian food journey. He was friendly, cheery and upbeat. The food was amazing, have no way other to express it. The man was passionate about food and we loved it.

In retrospect, after we suffered due to racist encounter at another cafe (we are brown), our experience here was a reminder that there are always good and bad people. And the bad behaviour shouldn’t overshadow our entire trip. Goes to show a little kindness goes a long way....
