It is a bit difficult to find. Go through the court yard of the Brera's Museum/University and walk along the corridor opposite. At the end turn right down another corridor and the door leading to the gardenis off to the left. Entrance to the garden is about 20 m along to the right outside the door. It is a must see if you are interested in gardens, trees, plants or just looking for a quiet place to sit and relax in a quiet place in the centre of Milan. Completely unsuitable for children. So take your little darlings somewhere else please. The gardens are, however, popular with studious looking Italian students. Look out for two large ginkgo trees, one female one male next to the garden wall in the corner to the right furthest from the garden entrance.

This beautiful botanical garden in the heart of Milan is like a hidden paradise nestled among the surrounding buildings, awaiting its visitors. The garden, which is part of the University of Milan, has a rich history. After being abandoned for many years, it was renovated and reopened to visitors between 1998 and 2001. During our visit to Milan, we chose this place to rest in the middle of the day. We had a peaceful and enjoyable time strolling among the wonderful trees and ponds. Admission is free, and the information signs and brochures provided are sufficient to help you make the most of your visit.

I was visiting the garden during Milan Design week. So it was a bit busy and a bit different than normal. It was not easy to find the entrance but eventually found it. The entrance is realy cool. I came from a side and entered a sort of square super Nice. After that I walked through some long hallways I ended up at a big fence. The garden is in a soort of courtyard. Lot of plants against the wall and and in the garden. Some small information signs where you can read some information (also in englisch). The garden is a bit small but beautiful realy enjoy it.

It is a free-to-enter botanical garden that is part of a university. It is small but has a lot of species of plants. It even has some guide about how genetics was studied by Mendel, with some real demonstrations of the pea plants flowers. Besides that there is this "castle tower", some benches to sit - where some people were relaxing and/or having lunch. Also there is a free and clean bathroom. And at least the day we went (a monday on lunch time) it was not loaded with turists.

Laid out by botanical family this garden is a must visit for anyone interested in the study of plants. That said it is also a cool, quite oasis in the bustling city of Milan where anyone can find a moment of peace. Clearly well maintained there is always going to be something of interest here and we were amazed to find that it was free to enter. Despite visiting on a Saturday it wasn't particularly busy, certainly not enough to detract from the pleasure of the garden.
