I've never felt so invisible and ignored in any restaurant, ever!
Table booked for 8pm on a Tuesday. Arrived on time, restaurant not busy and despite being well-staffed, all members of staff protrayed an uninterested sense with our arrival and pointed us nonchalantly to a table in the window.
Despite repeated attempts and gestures to attract anyone's attention to even order water or any drink before ordering food, this was ignored.
It became clear when a large party of guests arrived after us waiting 15 minutes without any contact from a single member of staff, that this is where their focus of the evening would be.
Drinks were prepared for them, and staff swarmed around their arrival. We still remained completely invisible.
Finally after 25 minutes of futile waiting, we decided to leave without a single member of staff or management (with a kiosk at the entrance area which we had to pass by on arrival and exit) engaging in any way with any of us to speak.
I can understand that priority can be directed to larger parties by restaurants, but simple courtesy of explaining this to other customers or the decency of making customers feel welcomed and looked after is not difficult to achieve, or alternatively don't succumb to greed and accept the booking (without the resource to cater for demand - though I would suggest there were ample numbers of staff that just didn't fulfill their roles).
I have never felt it necessary to leave a restaurant before ordering food, or being acknowledged by any member of staff. This has sadly been the worst experience we have witnessed in any restaurant we have visited, and if there were options of lower scores were possible, I would apply them to this place.
This is not what I have experienced or witnessed ever before in Milan, any other part of Italy, or anywhere else any...
Read moreSo it was our last night out with some friends and we decided to go grab pizza, perhaps at spontini or any place that was open. Well, we ended up here and I'm soooooo glad we did!
It was a group of about 15 of us and at about 10:30 pm we were starving! These people were so nice to take us in despite their place saying it closes at 11. We all ordered pizza and let me tell you, this is one of the best spots for pizza napoletana in Milano! Just wow!
When I seen "il cappello di Totò" as a pizza option, it immediately brought a smile to my face. This is a mozzarella di buffala pizza filled with a ricotta crust. How amazing was it? FOODgasm amazing! The moment I took a bite out of that pizza it took me straight to Napoli, where the best pizza in the whole country is at! Now I'm only talking about the pizza part, haven't gotten to the best part yet. THE CRUST ::::: drumroll ::::: this was paradise in your mouth. I can't even describe it! Anyways, I think I've described how amazing this food is. Go try it! Don't doubt yourself. Don't think twice! Eat the pizza! Eat the menu! Eat the...
Read moreMy meal was amazing from start to finish. I walked in just as they opened. By the time I left the place was packed so making a reservation is probably wise.
I started with a caprese salad. It was a unique and wonderful twist. The tomatoes and mozzarella were there, of course, but the center of the plate had a mound of pesto on it and some greens. There were also olives. The server brought olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The vinegar was a spray bottle. First time I’ve seen that but it worked really well and lightly added the vinegar. The mix of the tomatoes, mozzarella and pesto was sublime. So good.
Next I had a mushroom and prosciutto pizza. It was delicious. The sauce was great and the crust was perfect.
I indulged and finished the meal with tiramisu that was served in a jar. Yummy way to finish the meal. I would...
