The restaurant is cosy, clean and the tables well spaced. The walls are lined with racks of bottles of wine, with sections for Whiskey and Rum. We turned up without a reservation but they still found us a table. The waiter was friendly and helpful, explaining exactly how we can access the menu in English and how to get on the restaurant wifi, if we wanted. He was happy to listen to my bad Italian or converse in English. The wine menu is extensive! Prices for wine range from about 26 Euros up. We had to keep turning the waiter away, as we were taking so long choosing a wine. In the end the wine Semillon came along and helped us with our final selection. He ignored the most expensive and told us to choose between two others, with his advice being to choose based on how mature our palette is, i.e. go for the newer (cheaper) wine if new to red wine, or the older version for the more intense flavours. The menu, whilst not as extensive as the wine, is full of different and flavoursome dishes, the likes of some I have not seen before. I particularly enjoyed the Tuorlo d'uovo impanato, followed by the Spaghettone fresco fatto in casa con gamberi rossi di mazara, and my wife loved their Tiramisu. The price on the dishes we found to be very reasonable. Throughout the evening, the waiter was chatty and attentive, even taking note in passing conversation that it was my wife's birthday, putting a candle in her Tiramisu and arranging for the staff to sing Happy Birthday to her. The owner also stopped by our table for a chat, which only added to the hospitality we experienced. Overall, we had a wonderful evening and would highly recommend this restaurant. If we are ever back in Milan, we will certainly...
Read moreFood is good; wines are great; service is fantastic.
My girlfriend and I visited and were both a little difficult when it came to choosing wine that night. Despite this we never felt rushed to make a decision, instead we were guided with expertise, honesty, and great care.
Once we eventually did come to a decision, we received a level of attentiveness that one wouldn’t usually expect when simply ordering by the glass. Our wines were very quickly taken to be chilled as our server made the point that she believed they were too warm (a problem I have had repeatedly in Milan and the first time that our waiter was the one to note it).
We weren’t rushed or pushed into making any choices for desert either, the choices were presented and then our waiter left until we had finished our wines that had accompanied our main meal. Just as we finished them she reappeared and asked if we would like anything. We did, and it...
