Our culinary journey on an unassuming Saturday night led us to Frangente, a gem tucked away near NH hotel in Milan. With a near-perfect rating on Google and a mere stone's throw away from the hotel, this find seemed promising, even though reservations were not available.
One of the unique aspects of Frangente is its open kitchen, located right at the entrance. The sight of the chef preparing meals provided an immediate sense of intrigue and excitement. Despite the absence of reservations, we were warmly welcomed and secured a place as the last table of the night.
Our meal commenced with excellent service provided by the staff, who were both friendly and professional. They ensured we felt comfortable in the well-designed restaurant, setting the tone for a delightful evening.
My main course, the pigeon, was presented atop a perfectly grilled melanzane (eggplant), providing an excellent combination of flavors. This was accompanied by a side dish of artichoke and peas, offering a well-rounded meal. Though the dish was certainly of high quality, it was not groundbreaking - yet a noteworthy experience for food enthusiasts. My friend, on the other hand, savored the Pasta Mare, which added to the diverse culinary spread we enjoyed that night.
The true pièce de résistance was the dessert - a petite, yet incredibly flavorsome Crème Brûlée, unexpectedly ordered by my friend. Accompanied by complementary house pastries and adorned with likritz cream, fresh chocolate cream, and a dusting of caffe powder, the dessert was a sublime finish to our meal. The Crème Brûlée alone, frozen to perfection, set a new standard for this classic dessert.
Despite the high-end dining experience, the bill was pleasantly surprising. At 72 Euro, the culinary experience offered by Frangente was indeed excellent value for money.
In conclusion, Frangente may not have been a 5-star experience for me, but it was certainly a close contender. It provided a memorable and satisfying meal that will linger in our taste buds for a some time. Given its exceptional food, great service, and reasonable pricing, I wholeheartedly recommend Frangente for anyone seeking a gratifying culinary...
Read moreWe had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at Frangente Milano, where everything from the atmosphere to the food and service exceeded our expectations.
To start, we ordered the Roasted sweetbread with lobster, zucchini, and lemon zest, along with the Beef tartare with anchovies, capers, and mullet roe. Both dishes were beautifully plated and packed with flavor. The sweetbread was perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside with a rich, buttery texture inside—complemented by the freshness of the lobster. The beef tartare was equally impressive, with the umami from the anchovies and the briny depth of the mullet roe adding wonderful complexity.
For our main courses, we enjoyed the Milanese-style veal cutlet, the Pork terrine with prawn salad and beef tendon, and the Milanese risotto with saffron and bone marrow. The veal cutlet was outstanding—crispy, golden-brown on the outside, yet incredibly tender and juicy inside, showcasing a perfect balance of texture and flavor. The pork terrine was smooth and rich, beautifully paired with the freshness of the prawn salad. The Milanese risotto was a true highlight—creamy, luxurious, and infused with the delicate aroma of saffron, while the bone marrow added an indulgent richness.
Beyond the exceptional food, what truly set this experience apart was the impeccable service. The entire staff was attentive, professional, and genuinely passionate about ensuring an unforgettable meal. The sommelier’s expertise stood out, as they provided thoughtful wine pairings that elevated each dish. Their knowledge and enthusiasm for wine and cuisine made the experience even more enjoyable.

Read moreFrangente Milano offers a dining experience that engages all the senses right from the moment you step in. The open kitchen, where you can witness the chefs and their team crafting each dish, sets the stage for a tantalizing meal. The freshness and meticulous preparation immediately whet your appetite.
For starters, we indulged in the beef tartare with sesame oil. The beef showcased high-quality, tender cubes that delivered a burst of flavor with each bite. It was a truly delicious way to kick off the culinary journey.
Moving on to the mains, the entrecote of heifer aged for 40 days was divine, boasting rich and succulent meat. However, the braised aubergine, while decent, didn't quite harmonize with the dish, leaving room for improvement.
The mustard-seared heifer, perfectly cooked, took center stage in another main dish. Accompanied by well-thought-out side dishes and seared vegetables, it was a plate that exemplified balance and complemented the heifer beautifully.
As for dessert, the creme brulee with dark chocolate and roasted hazelnut was nothing short of divine. The velvety creaminess of the creme brulee, paired with the delightful crunch of roasted hazelnuts and the subtle touch of dark chocolate, created a harmonious symphony of flavors and textures that left a lasting impression.
Frangente Milano's carefully curated wine list seamlessly complemented the culinary offerings, enhancing the overall dining experience. The staff were not only attentive but also genuinely kind and helpful, adding to the warmth of...
