The food was great, and the Maritozzi I ordered did not disappoint. However, the service was a major letdown, as many others have mentioned. I asked to pay at the desk as soon as I arrived, but I was told this wasn’t possible. Instead, I had to sit and wait for 20-30 minutes before a waitress finally approached us. To make matters worse, we were then asked to move because our table was suddenly “reserved”—though this wasn’t the case when we sat down, as the waitress only placed the reserved sign on the table after we were asked to move. After relocating, we had to wait another 20 minutes just to place an order, even though I knew exactly what I wanted from the start.

The food itself is undeniably good, but it’s not hard to find great food in Milan, especially for something as renowned as Maritozzi. Given the poor service, I wouldn’t recommend this place and I certainly won’t be returning.
