GinO12 — Restaurant in Milan

Italian culture is so famous for warm hospitality and friendly environment but non of these characteristics are considered for this place GinO12!!! The owner is so rude and impolite , the staff are so unprofessional and they don’t even know the most basic rules for a restaurant! The owner doesn’t care if you are comfortable or if you are happy about the food or the services! We reserved the place and we arrived on time , so the owner told us we had to go to the bar and wait for an empty table !!! We went to the bar and there were no seats , also there were so many staff going around but no one ( I emphasis No one) didn’t even reply ! Finally a Bar man, who was at the bar, gave us a Menu after 10 minutes of asking different people if we can sit somewhere to wait! There were other people like us who were waiting for their table so it showed that there were not only us who had the same problem! After almost 20-25 minutes, finally a guy asked us to follow him to the patio! We sat there and again after 15 minutes the guy came over and asked if we want to order! We ordered a bottle of wine and the food! He left and came back with the wine , but it took another 20 minutes for him to bring over the ice container for the wine and you can imagine on August , the temperature in Milan can melt everything very soon!!!! The same guy, was serving our next table and while opening the wine , he didn’t open it properly and the wine cork hit my friend’s eye which she had a black bruise the day after for a week or so! The guy asked a very simple apology not even a second and he escaped in! He came back with our food after 15-20 minutes and both dishes were so cold! He didn’t even come back which we couldn’t ask him the dished are cold! Then we were waiting for the bill and it took forever so we went in to pay! First , the lady couldn’t find the our table bill and she had also hard times to find the right guy! The bill was incorrect so my friend told them we had 2 dishes and a bottle of wine but they didn’t accept it! After 7-8 minutes finally they found the bill and they found out we were right! Again the owner didn’t even ask us apology and he didn’t even care that he and his staff ruined our Friday night! I am really sorry for the owner and his rude and impolite behavior and I highly recommended you not even pass this place cause maybe you lose your eyes or get any possible injuries due the amateur staff and uneducated owner! Two years living in Milan and this is the best bar that I've found so far. The first impression when you arrive is already "wow"! what a beautiful bar, super elegant but cozy at the same time, nice decoration! Then the guy that served us was extremely helpful and nice, he helped me to find a sweet drink (always with gin) and helped also my boyfriend to choose a dry gin but with special flavour notes. Our drinks seemed 2 pieces of art, since all ingredients seemed to fit perfectly with each other. It was really a pleasure to get those drinks, we then repeated them. It is not cheap, we payed 48 euroos for 4 drinks, but it's worth it!!! If you love gin, you can't find a place with more variety of gin to choose: they have 4 full pages of gin and drinks with gin. Truly an amazing experience. We stumbled upon this place on our last night in Milano and it was an unforgettable experience. The service was amazing, everyone was so attentive and kind. We sat in the back terrace which provided an intimate and cozy atmosphere. For the starters we had the prosciutto and cheese platter which was amazing. The risotto alla milanese was amazing. The Irish rib-eye was really well prepared. And the wine… everything was truly perfect. Also the tiramisu and the sorbet. Everything that we ordered was truly great and so well prepared.
