🐮 Milan | Locals' Top-Recommended Steakhouse 🥩

We called in here last Friday whilst looking for a good spot for an early dinner in Milan. We were quite surprised that they could fit us in with no booking, and were certainly not disappointed. The very knowledgable (and very attractive) young man behind the butcher's counter recommended a selection of bombs as an appetizer - mainly pork and beef with an assortment of flavours (pistachio, gorgonzola, mustard, mortadella, provolone etc). We also ordered a few lamb skewers, as we'd heard they were a highlight. We also went for a steak each, along with a couple of sides (roast potatoes and turnip greens with chilli and garlic). We then went to our table and waited for them to grill our meats whilst we enjoyed bread with olive oil and balsamic, along with a carafe of primitivo. The meat was cooked to perfection! We ordered medium rare and it was perfect. Absolutely melted in your mouth and was perfectly seasoned, so no need for sauces or dressings. We finished with an espresso and some complimentary digestifs. All in all it was a perfect evening. Service was friendly and non-fussy, and the final bill ended up around 70 euros for two. Highly recommend.

We arrived as they opened at 7pm, it was empty then but quickly filled up. The overall design and atmosphere is quirky and fun. When you arrive, you are asked to choose your food. This would be a starter from the menu and then a main from the meet at the counter. We went for an enormous on the rib steak to share. It was cut, set to one side, and we went to our table. The house red was better than expected. But the wine list looks to have been thoughtfully curated. The Valpolicella we followed up with was above expectations. The steak had a nice sear, but was burnt in a few places. As the cut was a little random, some was medium rare as asked, but some was a little under done. The produce was good, slightly let down by preparation and cooking. We were given three small bottle of liquor. One limoncello, the other two infusions. Quite sweet and they went very well with the tiramisu. If you visit this restaurant, you must try the tiramisu with these liquors. A perfect match. The tiramisu is light and not too sweet. It was the star of the show. Overall, an expensive restaurant but worth a diversion.

●Food: -My cut, which cost around €30, arrived fully burned on the outside. The absence of homogeneity between the internal and external surfaces is expected given the method of cooking, but in my case, the taste of burnt was the only flavor I detected, and it was so potent as to overpower all others. To get at the remaining steak, I had to take off the top. I also took some skewers which, in addition to being tasteless, also arrived a little burnt. I wouldn't call them bad but not good either. In conclusion, I also had some meatballs, which overall I would define as nice.

●Service: After waiting in line for a bit, I reached the counter because there were a few males in front of me. When it was finally my turn, the individual serving me displayed tremendous rudeness by asking me what I wanted right away without even giving me a chance to read and asking me to speed up. I want a piece of steak after placing multiple orders for meatballs and skewers. I wanted to order a little portion, but the waiter immediately cut a large piece without waiting for me to complete speaking, refusing to divide it in half as I had specifically requested. Finally, I had to consume a poorly prepared cut that I mostly skipped.

●Atmosphere: Overall, the ambiance was extremely pleasant. I thought the setting was lovely, and I really liked how they welcomed customers before and...

Ottimo connubio

Chef David H.Bucher Ki...
