Pasta Fresca Da Giovanni — Restaurant in Milan

Simply the best. The most amazing pasta in the world. You know the place knows what's what when they simply offer you a napkin and a fork, no knife or spoon required!

200g is not enough, if you're vaguely hungry then I'd highly recommend you order 400g and combine two flavours. The Gricia and Tomato&Basil were both AWESOME.

For a size reference, I've included pictures of the pasta. The ravolli portion is 200g. The "long pasta" (Tagliatelline) is only 100g.

Cannot recommend this place enough. The lady runs the front of house and she is absolutely lovely, speaks fluent English. Her husband is the chef and he is friendly too!

If you're coming here for dinner then I highly recommend you get here early, before 6pm. There are only 3 tables outside and they all filled to before 6.05pm! By 6.15pm the restaurant was full and there was a queue outside!

Although it does not look like it, it feels like you are going in someone's house. Nothing fancy, just straight to the point; PASTA. Eveything is homemade fresh, with a selection that changes all the time. If you want the most amazing, artisanal pasta this is the spot. You can chose to get 1 or 2 (split) choice of pasta with different sauces. I had the ravioli with spinach and ricotta with a light and fragrant tomato and basil sauce, and tagliatelle with cacio e pepe sauce. Simply delicous, cooked al dente (perfection). The place is open only during lunch time so I would advise coming in time as space is limited. The concept of this is it is not a restaurant but a shop where you can taste the homemade pasta. True on both counts: it is not a restaurant, in the sense that you are not treated as you would be in a restaurant (staff is very serious and in a hurry, absolutely NO smiling) and you get to "taste" the pasta, meaning you might not feel full at the end. The taste is ok for some of the pasta types, unexpected for the others. We liked the lemon ravioli, the meat ravioli, the spinach ravioli. The prices are so and so... 9 euro for single and 12 euro for half and half, but the portions for half and half are quite small. The place is really tiny, fits 5-6 tables, but very crowded.
