A disappointing experience due to unclear details

We went to this Mexican restaurant, there were three of us, and we decided to order a fajita platter for two since we knew the portions are large (during our previous visit, there was plenty left over). We also ordered wine and water, everything seemed fine up until that point.

When we sat down, the waitress offered us a "shot of honey or coconut tequila," saying it was a house special. We accepted it, but when the food arrived, they brought us only two plates instead of three. When I asked about the third one, the waitress also offered us salsas (like to the other tables), which I agreed to.

My surprise came when I went to pay the bill, and they charged me 5 euros for each shot of tequila and an additional 8 euros for the salsas. Although I paid it, I was really upset about being charged for everything.

It’s important to clarify that the food wasn’t bad, but the service and the lack of transparency regarding the prices left a bad impression. I might be partly at fault for not asking more questions, but honestly, I felt misled by the way charges were presented.

I don’t plan to return to this restaurant, but I hope this review helps future customers to be more cautious about what they’re offered and...

Siamo in due: gli altri della compagnia non avevano voglia di uscire a cena, noi non avevamo voglia di cucinare anche oggi che domani è festa e si può far serata. Troviamo questo posto spulciando qua e là su Google, prenotiamo in preda all'euforia viste le foto online dei piatti niente male. Poi una notizia ci gela: altri nostri amici sostengono non sia così buono come sembri etc etc. Va beh, o la va o la spacca. Partiamo quindi un po' titubanti ed arriviamo con un discreto anticipo sulla prenotazione, ma nessun problema, un'accoglienza giovane e simpatica ci mette a nostro agio con un paio di battutine. Ci fanno accomodare dove vogliamo avendo ancora molti tavoli vuoti e poche prenotazioni (presumo si possa non prenotare quindi) e ci portano subito carta dei vini, lista dei cocktail e menù. Affamatissimi, ci facciamo tentare da qualunque cosa, essendo alle prime armi con la cucina messicana. Dopo aver ponderato a lungo optiamo per dei nachos da smezzarci come appetizer, poi le fajitas. Cioè siamo al messicano, vuoi non prendere le fajitas? E allora due piatti, una porzione di fajitas chicano e una di pork & chicken. È il turno delle bevande, però qui è facile una volta che scopriamo che ci sono le margaritas. Dal messicano devi bere un margarita, o comunque qualcosa con del tequila. Vada per il litro di margarita alla pesca, forti di quanto Ross di Friends amasse il margarita, però era tutto un salto nel buio, nessuno di noi lo aveva mai provato. Ci portano nachos e caraffa di cocktail con i bicchieri ed una volta finito l'antipasto i due piatti principali. Porzioni magnifiche, temevamo di non saziarci, abbiamo finito a fatica il tutto, forse effettivamente i nachos erano un surplus evitabile, ma la gola ci ha tradito. Tutto ottimo, fantastico oserei dire, sebbene non abbia termini di paragone validi con cui confrontare il tutto. I nostri amici sbagliavano alla grande sconsigliandolo. Tuttavia do 4 stelle e non 5 per una scena nei bagni: mentre ero andato a liberare il mezzo litro di margaritas, sento improvvisamente nel bagno accanto una coppia che non mi aveva minimamente notato entrare e iniziare a discutere. Il tutto mentre io per l'imbarazzo rimanevo chiuso silente nel bagno tentando di non smascherare la mia presenza ancora celata. Illuso da un silenzio calato improvvisamente e dalla porta di accesso alle toilette che si apriva e chiudeva poi credo sia il segnale del via libera, quando invece era una 4a persona che entrava a far parte di quell'imbarazzante quadretto. Ovviamente scoperto dalla coppia litigiosa e tutti e 3 imbarazzatissimi esco con una fintissima nonchalance e torno al tavolo. Grazie a dio si spengono le luci e parte una musica e arriva una torta di compleanno al tavolo vicino al nostro che spezza il mio volto imbarazzato,e via la serata riprende al meglio. Ah si...

Service: 5/5. The waiters were really friendly and polite. Food: 4/5. The first time I came here I ordered tacos and they were so tasty, but the portion was too generous for just one person. The second time I ordered fajitas for two with my date and the meat was a little too cooked but otherwise excellent. I particularly suggest the french fries because they're perfectly cooked! (Also, free sauces!!) Location: 4/5. The location is modern and you can find small details about tex-mex culture. The two downsides are the loud music and the closeness of the tables. I sometimes couldn't hear what the other person was saying and I kept bumping into the person seated behind me. Menu: 5/5.
