Amazing. Let’s start off with that. I’ll follow that up with this is the first real meal we had in Italy. While this could be perceived as skewing my point of view I will say I have eaten in many fine restaurants all over the world and this was as I said, amazing. It is absolutely a local joint, while there are descriptions in English on the menu I believe we were the only native English speakers in the joint. We got there early, shortly after they opened for dinner service at 1900. There was one other family in The restaurant at the time.
The staff was friendly and did their best to work with me as the only other language I speak poorly besides English is Spanish. We got everything we asked for and it was fantastic. We ordered the prosciutto and mozzarella appetizer to start as well as a carafe of their house wine. This was followed by the pistachio macaroni and the Fantasia pizza. We finished of the dinner with another carafe of red house wine and their Tiramisu.
Everything was homemade, the sauce, the dough and I’m sure the cheese. The Tiramisu was one of the best if not the best I’ve ever had (only ever had Tiramisu in the States so....). The staff was very nice and helpful with my 1 y/o and we never felt rushed even when the line was growing outside. Between shortly after 1900 and when we left around 2000 the restaurant was full with people and others were waiting to be seated. So lesson to be learned is go early or you will have to wait for a bit to get a seat. Early or late though it is absolutely worth it.
The cost was marginal compared to my favorite and in my opinion the best pizzeria back home in Albuquerque (Farinas Pizzeria).
So. If you want a fantastic fresh Italian meal with a cozy atmosphere and yet still see a vibrant popular place in Milan then please check it out and have a glass of their...
Read moreThe best people we've encountered on our travels. We went here for lunch and it was delicious and comforting. A great environment, the cook came and took our order (his english was not great but he was bubbly and joyful and kind. Also we kept trying to speak Italian and they corrected us with a shrug and a laugh) we ordered way too much food but ate it all. We then came back for dinner because we were staying around the corner. They recognized us and were genuinely happy to see us. We had a good laugh with all the staff and it felt like they knew us like regulars. Great service and extremely affordable a wood fired 12" pizza for 7 euro... seafood salad, pastas, salads, tiramasu amazing. Just Loving people and it shows in the cooking!...
