Standards for korean food in Milan must be low because this doesn't deserve 4.5 stars. The Bibimbap just tasted of sesame oil, there was egg shell in the mandu-guk, and the korean fried chicken was soft and slimy. Not to mention how expensive it all was! A lot of the reviews here are commending the host for his friendliness but we didn't get that impression. When we arrived he asked if we'd made a reservation then when we said no (we arrived at opening time) he said it may be difficult and had to check and made a big deal out of it. He let us in to the back room and it was completely empty the whole time we were there! I think the reason he was so reluctant to let us in was probably because the back room is in a really shameful state, water damage to the ceiling, a hole in the wall, paint on the corner beads. Generally horrible atmosphere. They're charging €22 for fried chicken and they can't even find the money to redecorate a bit? I was going to let all this slide and just forget about it but then I came on here and saw the contemptuous arrogant replies this guy has been giving to every review that was even slightly negative. I'm assuming the success of this business so far has largely been due to korean food being a fad here but if he continues to run a restaurant like this his luck is eventually...
Read moreWas delightfully surprised to find such a decent Korean restaurant! The owner and the staff were kind and the service was very quick, even without considering the fact that Korean food generally takes a while to prepare. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, and the various memorabilia from Korea were enough to make me feel right at home. The food was great and although some of them cannot be considered very cheap, was well worth the money, with a diverse range including traditional and modern dishes loved by all Koreans.
For the non-Koreans, I would definitely recommend Seoul as a nice place to have/try Korean food. The quality of the food is very high, with fresh ingredients and a diverse menu. As a Korean, I can guarantee that you won't be disappointed.
For the Koreans, I would definitely recommend visiting if you miss the 집밥 from back home, or if you are looking for a place to...

However, I feel there is some room from improvement with the following issues: 1)The red wine. It didn't taste good. I am no oenologist. I don't know if it was because it was sitting there for too long or because it was just a not so good wine. In any case, it could have been much better.
2)Charging for the rice. This is probably just me, but it gives me the impression I am being ripped off. It's like being charged for tap water. I get it, the owner has to pay rent, utilities, etc. But rice... come on... Many of the Korean places I have been to just give you rice with the bulgogi and don't charge you when you ask for more. Anyways... To sum up, for these two issues I deduct one star. So, it's 6 stars for the amazingly flavorous bulgogi and side dishes minus 1star for...
