Per prima cosa, voglio spezzare una lancia a favore del personale che mi ha colpito per la sua gentilezza e accoglienza. Complimenti! Per quanto riguarda la cucina, ogni volta che provo un nuovo ristorante thailandese fuori dalla Thailandia sono sempre preoccupato di cadere in una specie di trappola. Un conto sono i sapori asiatici in generale, un conto è il sapore di Thailandia. E devo dire che da questo punto di vista Thai Chokdee è perfetto! Sono tornato dal mio ennesimo viaggio in Thailandia da meno di un mese. Quei sapori magnifici, provati centinaia di volte, cominciavano a mancarmi. Da Thai Chokdee li ho ritrovati, quasi identici a quelli dei miei ricordi. E dico "quasi" con estremo rispetto per il personale della cucina, perché immagino lo sforzo fatto a reperire tutti gli ingredienti giusti in Italia, e perché comprendo che alcuni prodotti freschi sono semplicemente irreperibili o difficilissimi da conservare per più di 3-4 giorni. Peraltro, il menu è molto esteso e questo aggiunge ulteriore complessità gestionale. Abbiamo provato ben 5 piatti (i grandi classici della cucina thailandese) e 2 dolci. Nessuno mi ha deluso o mi è sembrato contenesse sapori "nuovi" dovuti alla sostituzione di ingredienti thailandesi con ingredienti italiani. I miei amici, mai stati in Thailandia, erano deliziati e io ammirato. Bravi! Ultimo dettaglio: siamo entrati alle 20 e siamo stati a chiacchierare e mangiare fino alle 23. Chi abita a Milano sa bene che questo è ormai imposibile nella maggior parte dei ristoranti e delle pizzerie della città.
