As an American who eats Vietnamese food regularly all over the US (made by Vietnamese people), I was surprised that the bahn mi #3 (the only one that sounded most like what I normally order at home, regular pork bahn mi) doesn't taste a thing like what I am used to. In fact it looks like it has cheeseburger cheese on it. I'm not sure what that orange stuff was. Point being that if you're an American looking for bahn mi, just be prepared to not taste the same flavors that you're used to. There were some pickled vegetables, but no Sriracha mayo, no cilantro at all, and in general just a very very different flavor.
