Mi Piace Trattoria — Restaurant in Modena

Excellent place to eat in the central old town of Modena. I visited here with my mother during our road trip from France to Rome.

We had one of the restaurant's tasting menus, a steal at €30 per person. This is comprised of a choice of 3 pasta dishes to start, followed by a range of cold cuts and local specialties with a sample of dessers to finish. The price even includes bottled water, a liqueur with dessert, and a coffee at the end of the meal.

Everything we tasted was freshly prepared, tasted amazing, and looked great. We are relatively small eaters, and didn't have a hope of finishing everything.

The service was excellent and attentive without being overbearing. And for those who don't speak Italian, one of the waitresses speaks flawless English.

I would recommend calling ahead and reserving a table, as this establishment is rather small (and popular).

All in all, rightly one of the most highly recommended...

We have been in Moderna for two days and have been to this restaurant on both days. The first day for lunch - it was amazing and the owner made lunch such an experience for us. She explained what the dishes were and recommended some regional dishes for us also. My daughter is coeliac and this restaurant understood and catered for her perfectly. We decided to come back the next evening for my husband’s birthday dinner. How amazing!! We feasted on delicious regional cuisine and received such attentive service throughout the evening. What a fabulous gem in Modena! We were so grateful to find such an awesome place at extremely reasonable prices on our first night here. We booked a table for the next night before leaving. Maybe we should have booked the next three? Happiness is the pumpkin ravioli in butter and sage. Followed by tortellini in parmigiana sauce.
