Hotel Central Park — Hotel in Modena

I was working in Italy and stayed at the Central Park hotel for approximately 10 days. This is a fantastic hotel! It is in a great location too! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and really liked the breakfast also! I had a free weekend and on a spur of the moment decision I wanted to go to Florence. The only problem was that I didnt know the first thing about even getting there. A big thank you goes out to Francesco at the front desk! Francesco took care of everything for me including finding the non stop round trip trains from Modena to Florence as well as finding and booking a hotel for my weekend stay in Florence. If it weren't for Francesco's assistance I would have missed out on an awesome weekend in Florence, Tuscany and Siena. We were here for 4 nights, but were initially booked in for 6 nights. We cut our stay short, not because of the hotel but because of the location and the walking involved to get into the heart of Modena. The hotel is in a good location and central Modena is within walking distance, however 2 of our family group could not walk very far due to mobility problems and that did cause an issue. The hotel itself was clean, the staff were relatively friendly, although I did not find them as friendly and accommodating as other reviewers. The double room was a fair size, and whilst the decor was a little dated, it certainly did the job. Bathroom was okay although shower was tiny, no room to wash your hair or shave legs. As far as small Italian hotels go, this one is definitely on the better side. Rooms are decently large, bathrooms too, and everything is clean. What's amazing is the decor. The dream of the '70s is alive and well in Modena. Where else are you going to get orange patterned bedcovers with purple carpet and pink, textured walls? If it were decrepit it'd be awful, but it's all so clean that it's like a museum. A friend said it's like staying in a Wes Anderson film.
