MOB — Restaurant in Modena

I came here with my son, his girlfriend and my dad. We were on an Italian car tour and being driven around Italy on a big bus with a big group of people. We came to MOB because we wanted to eat local, We really enjoyed meeting the owners and learning about their life and goals. We were really impressed with their vision and warmth and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The food and drinks were great and we wish them the best in their future endeavors! Since we don't speak Italian we had a little trouble but everything we got was tasty. My sons girlfriend ordered tacos but she got a burger. My son ordered a burger and it was great. I got a burger too. And I didn't understand that I'd ordered a burger! 😂 Dad was happy with his order but I can't remember what it was. Had the pleasure of stopping by this establishment whilst my wife had her nails done down the road. I was greeted by Terry who immediately recognized my Italian was nothing short of dismal and spoke to me in English. I sat at the bar, as I was a party of one, and was provided with amazing libations and a complimentary plate of nachos, salsa, and peanuts.

When my wife was done with her nails she had trouble finding the bar. I asked Terry to speak with her and guide her. Instead, he walked outside and down the road to find her and guided her in the bar! We enjoyed craft cocktails and wonderful conversation with Terry and his twin brother Teddy. Siamo entrati incuriositi nel locale, ma siamo rimasti molto delusi dall’accoglienza e dalle politiche poco trasparenti. Non era segnalata chiaramente la consumazione obbligatoria da 5€, che ci è stata comunicata solo dopo esserci accomodati. Avremmo gradito maggiore chiarezza fin dall’inizio. Inoltre, abbiamo avuto la sgradevole esperienza con la cameriera che non era disponibile al dialogo: ha reagito in modo permaloso alle nostre domande, come se non si potesse semplicemente chiedere spiegazioni. Un atteggiamento che ci ha fatto sentire poco benvenuti. Peccato, perché il locale ha potenziale, ma l’approccio al cliente lascia molto a desiderare. Si beve all’esterno sotto a tendoni sporchi come si vede dalla foto. Non torneremo.

Grazie per la risposta. Capisco la vostra posizione e rispetto le politiche che ogni locale sceglie per sostenersi. Tuttavia, vorrei chiarire meglio il punto centrale della mia recensione: non mettiamo in discussione la legittimità della consumazione obbligatoria, ma il modo in cui viene comunicata. Nel nostro caso, non abbiamo visto alcun cartello esterno che la segnalasse chiaramente, e solo dopo esserci seduti ci è stata comunicata a voce. Questo ha dato l’impressione di una comunicazione poco trasparente, cosa che si sarebbe potuta evitare facilmente con una segnaletica ben visibile prima dell’ingresso. Inoltre, eravamo un gruppo di 6 persone, cinque delle quali hanno ordinato bevande per più di 10 euro a testa. Solo una persona, non potendo consumare altro,voleva una bottiglietta d’acqua. In un contesto del genere, un po’ più di flessibilità e comprensione avrebbe fatto la differenza, anche perché il nostro gruppo nel complesso aveva comunque speso una cifra adeguata. Infine, sulla cameriera: non mettiamo in dubbio che non ci fosse cattiveria, ma purtroppo il tono e l’atteggiamento percepito da noi è stato poco accogliente.
