Once the food is served, it was very tasty and up to our expectations. However, the evening we visited (parents with 2 teenage kids), the service was very poor and the famous Italian hospitality was totally lacking. I understand that the place was very busy (almost all tables taken, one big group of 10+ people and lot of people coming in for late dinner probably just before kitchen closing time), however, some basics could be altered to avoid disappointments: strange organization of waiters duties: not all circulating can take orders - it took us literally 20 min to wait to be able to place order and another 15 min to wait for ordered 2 glasses of wine and bottle of sparkling water. Stuff so busy, that when they are at your table, they don't listen properly. We never got 4 glasses to drink the ordered water, had to share 2 and finally 3 between us. No apology whatsoever for bad service: 1 dish (pizza) was served after about 20 min from ordering, 3 other dishes (3 various pastas) about 15-20 min later. We never managed to get extra drinks after first bottle of sparkling water, good we had our own to refill our glasses (Italian summer: you drink a lot). I am sure there must have been some disaster happening in the background, as place is lovely decorated, dishes we tried tasty, good selection and it's always pleasantly crowdy, but communicating this would help. Horrific experience at this restaurant. Arrived and waited ages for service. Ordered 2 veggie pizzas which arrived 35 mins later, practically thrown at us....COLD AND INEDIBLE 😡. Complained to waiter who didn't care. She looked at us and walked off. We complained again, she took up pizzas and walked off. We said are you going to do something? Apologize even? She shrugged and walked away. We said we're leaving. She said you need to see the boss. We followed her and explained to the boss who verbally abused us and said we must pay. We said for what? We had no food or drink or service!!! He picked up his phone and dialled a number and said he was calling the police. None arrived, but imagine threatening customers with the police because they complained of abysmal service. We had NO FOOD OR DRINKS!!! We paid a service charge FOR NOTHING!!! and had to demand our change. He threw it at us. We demanded a receipt. He refused. We stood our ground. He threw a receipt at us. We left. Complete disarray in terms of service and the taste is not good enough to compensate. Came with a group of 6 yesterday and had to wait 70minutes for the food to arrive I had the pizza margherita and no issues there. Here again today because shame on me. And people are sitting down getting frustrated and leaving on adjacent tables. The waitstaff is going to tables randomly (we ordered before a table that had sat down just before us, our drinks arrived, then their order was taken, their drinks arrived quickly and shortly thereafter their food arrived, they finished and left and our food (nothing fancy: just pizza and spaghetti) was not out; the spaghetti was served 50 minutes in, and the pizza was served (house pizza) 60+ minutes in. By the the pizza arrived, my wife had stopped waiting and we started eating her dish. The spaghetti with fresh tomato sauce and basil was just disappointing in terms of the sauce.
