Don Vincenzo is one of Naples’ best-kept secrets, tucked away near the Materdei metro station. This authentic trattoria feels like stepping into a hidden gem, where mostly locals gather for incredible, no-frills Neapolitan cuisine.
The bucatini olive e capperi was a simple yet bold explosion of flavors, perfectly balanced with just the right kick from the capers. The amatriciana was rich and hearty, while the siciliana brought a delightful taste of southern tradition. The linguine alla pescatora was brimming with fresh seafood, truly capturing the essence of the Mediterranean. For meat lovers, the cotoletta di pollo and the salsicce e friarielli were absolutely divine, cooked to perfection.
Every bite was a love letter to the authentic soul of Naples, and it’s clear why this spot remains a local favorite. If you’re in town, don’t miss the chance to dine here—it’s the type of place that stays with you long after the meal is over.

The staff does not speak English. The prices on the menu that has an English translation is not updated. You see one price and after you pay more… not cool. The food, well… did not impress me. Moreover I got sick from it…my day was pretty much ruined. I had to vomit to be ok. I had to decorticate the shrimp by myself… the only thing good was risotto. My boyfriend ordered bolognese but the meat is from a can.. it’s not minced beef. Anyway, a real disappointment. I don’t understand how they get...
Read morepasta has always been a huge part of my life. growing up it’s been the one thing i’d never get tired of eating, needless to say it’s my favourite food. this year i had the opportunity to visit italy for the first time, Don Vincenzo is just 1 block away from my accommodation. We went there for dinner after touching down. The food totally blew me away, it was nothing sophisticated, just ordinary italian cuisine. But everything down to the last minute detail was perfect, every bite, every sip, every smile on the waitress’s face. Don Vincenzo served nothing more than warmth and satiety, i fell in love with this place in an instance. So if you’re just looking for good food, don’t go to Don Vincenzo, but if you’re looking for good food and tranquility, run to it before it...
