Bechamel — Restaurant in Naples

Rude staff. We made a reservation for a group, but unfortunately, some members of our group decided to drop out since they were tired. The waiter was plain rude in the way he dealt with the news. Anyone running a restaurant should know that some reservations don't always go through. We had made a reservation for 12 members, but seven of us showed up. The waiter started complaining and then told us that we had one hour to finish dinner and leave. How does that make us feel?

It was honestly our best meal in Naples. It’s right across from the Archaeological Museum, so it’s the perfect lunch stop if you’re visiting. There are only a few tables, so try to book ahead. The owner (chef?) is young and clearly talented, and I’m sure he has a bright future and this restaurant is just the beginning. The food struck just the right balance between traditional and modern. Siamo stati da Bechamel domenica a pranzo, io e mia moglie, e non potevamo scegliere posto migliore per concludere la settimana con gusto. Fin dall’ingresso siamo stati accolti con gentilezza e un’atmosfera rilassata, di quelle che ti fanno sentire subito a casa.

Prima di iniziare il pranzo ci hanno fatto assaggiare un olio davvero particolare: “Masturzo” della Basilicata, aromatizzato al limone. Una scoperta piacevolissima, profumato e delicato, ha dato una marcia in più anche al pane. Un piccolo gesto che ci ha subito fatto capire la cura per i dettagli.

Abbiamo proseguito con un antipasto della casa sorprendente: parmigiana di patate cremosa e saporita, frittatina con speck e noci equilibrata e sfiziosa, e delle polpette con besciamella che riportano alla cucina autentica, quella fatta con amore.

Come primi, lo spaghetto alla Nerano era un’esplosione di sapori delicati ma ben definiti, mentre la pasta e patate con provola ha superato ogni aspettativa: cremosa, calda, e con quel tocco affumicato della provola che la rende un vero comfort food.

Abbiamo chiuso con un tiramisù soffice, ben bilanciato nei sapori, e un amaro per completare in bellezza un pranzo davvero soddisfacente.

Il servizio è stato impeccabile: attento, presente al momento giusto e sempre con il sorriso. Non è scontato trovare posti così, dove si mangia bene e ci si sente accolti.

Viviamo in zona e torneremo presto… magari con qualche amico, perché Bechamel è una di quelle trattorie che meritano di essere condivise....
