Ok, so it was our last night in Naples and after scaling the great Versuvius earlier in the day we wanted a meal and drinks that met the same heights we had reached on that mighty volcano. We made a mistake. After checking out some of the reviews we felt comfortable taking our seats. The vegetarian was a bit hungry and we had to wait until 7pm to order our food (when chef arrives). We sat at just after 6pm and ordered some white wine. After perusing the menu for a while we made the decision to order something typically Italian, bruschetta with fresh tomatoes and basil and grilled vegetables as our starters. When we ordered the main things got a little....weird. Pasta a' fungi with the choice of either pappardelle or fettuccine pasta. So I ordered 2 with fettuccine and the waiter said "hold on" went off inside the restaurant and returned after a moment. He then asked us to confirm our order which I did. I also ordered 1 more glass of wine. Shortly the starters arrived. And they were pretty disappointing. If you are going to say grilled vegetables (we expected aubergine & zucchini) then we thought it would be hot. It was cold, the peppers were very oily which I'm not against but my issue is they were clearly out of a jar. The bruschetta itself had not been cooked at the establishment, more likely bought in and all they did was add the topping. Then we waited, and waited, aaaaaand waited. The vegetarian began to think that it would be a Miracolo if we were going to get our mains at all, and we had to ask 3 times for that extra glass of wine. When it arrived it was clearly pappardelle.......not fettuccine but at this point (@ an hour and 10 mins in from ordering) we weren't about to kick off. I likened the running around the waiting staff were doing to the Keystone Cops. Lots of energy not a lot of action. The guy I took to be the Manager just didn't have a clue what was going on. Plates of food were arriving singularly to table when 2/3 were eating. Drinks were being delivered singularly too. Finally, our waiter who was a pleasant young chap, felt he wanted to offer us a complimentary glass of wine each as a gesture of an apology, he would've done well to not walk off with our not yet empty vessels!!! Judging by other reviews we may just have been unlucky, but we weren't the only ones having trouble and I saw more unfinished plates of food than at any other restaurant. I would suggest you have a look around before settling on this place.

A visit to this pizzeria in Naples turned out to be… let’s say, memorable in its own way. The pizza was fine – nothing to write home about, but edible. The tuna salad, however, seemed like a tribute to canned goods: carelessly thrown together, lacking freshness, and overall more of a box-ticking exercise than a culinary experience. Things really got interesting when the bill arrived. We were greeted with a surprise charge: €5 “seat rental” – per person, naturally. Apparently, dining here includes the privilege of leasing your table by the hour. We’re well aware that service fees are common in Italy, but this felt more imaginative than standard. When we politely asked for an official hospitality invoice, it was never provided – perhaps that’s a premium service reserved for VIPs only. Bottom line: the food was average, the pricing creative, and transparency? Let’s just say it’s not exactly their house specialty.

This place is open until very late, so if you somehow have had a busy day and no time for dinner, this establishment is an ideal option. They also have staff that is fluent in English which, for tourists like me, is ideal. We ordered the pizza lasagne and it was really big, 1 pizza was enough for two people. It was quite delicious however. They also have a lot more to offer, from pasta to seafood dishes. While I cannot vouch for the quality of these dishes, the customers around us that ordered these dishes seemed to have a good experience.

If you are a woman or just a tourist and do not speak fluent Italian do NOT come here. We came for dinner and were given menus, and then within 2 minutes before we’d had time to process the waiter came up and told us about the special, to which we nodded along to show we were listening. He then ordered this for us and took our menus away, and when we told him we hadn’t ordered that and to give us our menus back, he just gave us one “in case we wanted to order something else also”. The food came out and on the board it was 18€. When we got the bill the plate was 50€ plus a service charge. When we went up to pay, the server that had been pleasant ( and spoke English to us the entire dinner) cornered us and began asking for tip and berating and essentially yelling at us. Mind you, the service charge was already included. He then pretended not to know English when we were saying that the service charge was already included. we did end up giving him a small tip out of fear only, but he still seemed angry that we had not given him more and kept asking us for 16€, which would have been over 30% of the bill. We left in tears. Do not come here, this place is evidently known to scam female tourists specifically. We obviously didn’t read enough reviews before coming. Nothing about the food was worth this experience. You could get better food down the street for a fifth of the price. Avoid this place...

This was THE WORST EXPERIENCE ever among all restaurants or cafes that I’ve visited in Italy. If google allows, I’d rather give zero star.

After sitting at the table, we ordered two bottles of still water, one coke, one beer and two pizzas. The waiter / owner did not take any note when we were ordering. One minute later he came back to the table with only one bottle of still water and one bottle of sparkling water. 🤷‍♂️ Five minutes later, we asked about the coke and beer and it turned out he unsurprisingly forgot the rest of our orders. During the following 30 minutes, we saw the cook kept standing at the door of the pizzeria and doing nothing but we never got our pizzas. Meanwhile, the people came after us got their pizzas before us, and the waiter / owner kept having “conversations” only at tables with 🚺customers. When asking again about our pizzas after a long wait, the waiter / owner came back with excuse that there was a technical delay in the kitchen and we were promised to get our pizzas within 3 minutes. (😡I can’t help but wondering his professionalism of operating a restaurant) Another five minutes later, we finally got our pizzas but they taste nothing like the pizza you’d expect from Napoli.

So, please stay away from this place if you want any authentic Napoli food and don’t want your trip ruined by...
