This quaint sized restaurant is bright & clean. The server was welcoming, and the chef was friendly; he also came out to greet us.
The menu offers a good selection of pizzas, pastas, appertizers, secondi choices, and beverages, without being too large a menu (and has English descriptions).
We ordered the grilled eggplant in olive oil to share, a Mimosa pizza (ham, cheese, corn), and the Naples must-try of Pasta Genovese, plus a soda & a beer. The portions were an excellent size for the price. The pizza's toppings were fresh and generous. The Pasta Genovese tasted clearly of the meat sauce, had numerous portions of meat, and was not too salty (another restaurant's recipe was too tomato-y, and too salty). The food was delicious!
We arrived for a late lunch, and didn't have to wait for a table or service. The food and customer service were top notch, and had a neighborhood feel even though we were on a major street. It was good value for our holiday budget. And we would definitely recommend this restaurant for...
Read moreI was initially welcomed at Vitami with genuine politeness and hospitality — a rare find in Naples where tourist trap restaurants often greet you with rudeness.
The food was fine: fried calamari was the standout, but the meatballs and veal milanesa were generic.
Unfortunately, the whole experience was ruined at the end when paying by card. The proprietor tried to push me into using the expensive foreign currency conversion rather than paying in euros, at first not even showing me the amount.
When I politely asked to pay in euros, he initially refused and then berated me in Italian before reluctantly allowing it.
This felt like a daily trick to overcharge tourists. Either avoid this place entirely or pay in cash
Update - just avoid this place, as you can tell from the reply from the owners and various after 1 star reviews, they don’t believe in customer service and I’ll be happy never to see them again - all the best mate and I’m English not...
Read moreWe went here based on good reviews and looks from the outside. The pizzas that we got were great but the service could definitely use some improvement. We asked the waitress if she could plug my phone to their socket and she just said that we should try the one near us (which we did before and it didn’t work) and she just stopped caring. I wouldn’t care honestly but few minutes later a table behind us asked the same thing and she had no problem with charging their phone. We had no other problems. But we witnessed how they treated couple that came few moments before us and ordered pasta to go, they made them wait for over an hour and even when their food was finally ready they let it sit there. I don’t really understand why would you treat...
