Antica Osteria Pisano — Restaurant in Naples

Worst restaurant meal I've had in years. I ordered the spezzatino di mare Pisano (Pisan seafood stew) and the broccoli sidedish. The broccoli was very mushy and overcooked. The seafood stew was worse. When they originally brought out my stew, it was fridge cold. They immediately came back and said that a mistake had been made. They returned a few minutes later with the same food, just plated different and lightly warmed up. The seafood stew was lukewarm, some of the potatoes weren't even hot all the way through. I wouldn't be surprised if it was microwave. Needless to say, I didn't eat much because I thought eating lukewarm fish would make me sick.

Edited to respond: I paid full price for the meal. I didn't bother complaining to the restaurant because I used to work in the restaurant industry and know what happens to people's food when they complain. They knowingly served me subpar food, charged me full price and now act as if pretending to discount the meal justifies serving a person...

I recently dined at Antica Osteria Pisano and, unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. Upon arrival, our server seemed disinterested, which set a negative tone. It felt like we were more of an inconvenience than valued customers.

The food itself was underwhelming. I ordered the ragù napoletano, expecting a rich and flavorful dish, but it was a fairly bland mix of pasta and tomato sauce with merely a token piece of meat. It lacked the depth and complexity typical of traditional ragù.

Adding to my disappointment was the pricing. The restaurant initially tried to charge us €28 for two servings of spaghetti with fresh tomatoes, which I found absurd for such a basic dish. Upon bringing this to their attention, they did adjust the price, but there was no apology offered, which further emphasized the lack of hospitality.

Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant. If you decide to visit, be vigilant about the prices, as it seems there may be discrepancies. There are many other dining options in the area that offer better service and more authentic food experiences.

This was our first dinner in Naples and it was an enjoyable experience. My partner and I chose to sit inside and we appreciated looking at the various tiles on the wall. I wanted something different so I ordered a fish dish with capers. I think it was cod. He ordered pasta with vongole. We also got the house wine and mixed salad. Only unfortunate thing was they ran out of fruits, which we wanted for dessert. Our server spoke English so it was easy to communicate what we wanted. The restaurant got really busy after 7:00pm and all the employees we saw were zipping back and forth so if you want super speedy service, just keep that in mind. They’re doing their best!!
