The young woman working in the front of the restaurant was friendly and I was relieved to talk to someone like her, so I went inside. The two older ladies who work inside clearly treat their racialized staff very differently. I was very courteous and thanked them all throughout my meal. When I finished my meal, one of the ladies demanded that I pay cash. When I walked to the counter, the other lady begrudgingly took out the card machine, and added a huge chunk to my bill for the privilege. Any white tourists get this cute treatment? We had a wonderful experience this evening! Antonio was our server and he was absolutely amazing with my teenaged son with special needs. Our Italian is very basic and he was able to speak English to help us out. He was friendly, informative and courteous. My son ordered the seafood risotto for his main course and raved about it. I had the grilled fish special and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The lemon cake was soft and not too sweet, and the red velvet cake (while not “red velvet” like in North America) was moist and fruity. They were the perfect finish to our night. After a long day exploring Pompey we found ourselves famished and really seeking seafood. We found this wonderful restaurant on Google and thought… let’s give it a try. Wow! WOW! We were not disappointed! The owner was gracious and delightful. Our food was soooo delicious and The presentation was superb! We chose the Scialatiello Con Pesce Frutti I Mare Pompodaro del Piennolo, a lovely seafood dish. It was cooked to perfection!
