I have had coffee from Cafe Sansone at home in the UK, that was imported by a clothing brand and instantly loved it. I brewed that blend of coffee on my LaMarzocco linea mini and it tasted great. As I travel to Napoli regularly, I knew that at some point Iâd have to get to the actual shop and meet Vincenzo for myself. Well, that has happened and I can honestly say Iâm not disappointed at all and it was well worth the trip! As I had been up to the Castel, a walk down to Cafe Sansone wasnât too bad at all and was a welcome treat at the end of the walk⌠but it is of course easily accessible with most going up a massive hill to the castel đ. Actually, after I left cafe Sansone, I was at the Maradona Mural in less than 10 minutes, showing how close to other popular tourist spots it is. In Italian culture, coffee plays a big part, but, you donât see many specialist coffee shops/roasters around Italy⌠especially ones that you can visit, cafe Sansone bucks that trend and links it all together perfectly.
You can sit inside the shop, have your coffee at the bar like a local or sit outside at a bistro table watching the world go by, which is what I did.
Vincenzo told me about the coffee, he was passionate about it and its origin, explaining the process of the bean as well as the roast. There were a number of different roasts that were available at the time I went in and I got the impression that this is how it always is. I think, think there were four different roasts available⌠there may have been more. You can choose the type of bean you want as well as the process you want it brewed in. Vincenzo told me that he had a coffee that was a matter of days old, his latest offering, a lovely one from Honduras. I opted for that as a flat white⌠yes, an actual flat white. It was delivered to my table outside and it was amazing! He took the time to bring a bag of beans outside to show me as it had all the information on about the beans as heâd not even had the cards printed up yet about the coffee, it was that new.
Along with the coffees, there is food available, I didnât have any, but I did have a sweet treat, a small fruit pastry, it was lovely!
I of course bought a bag of the beans to take away with me as they were so good, I cannot wait to try them at home.
I will be back, this will become a staple on all my future visits to Napoli, to not only buy a bag of beans to take back to the UK with me but also, to get a lovely speciality coffee at a great coffee shop ran by a genuinely nice man!
The level of service and dedication by Vincenzo and the staff at caffe Sansone was amazing, paired with the great cofffee, made for a memorable trip, which will be the first of many for me. If youâre in Naples and you appreciate a good coffee, you need to make time to visit...
Read moreâď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸ As someone who takes coffee seriously and brews pour-overs daily at home, Iâm always cautious about coffee shops that claim to be âspecialty.â But stepping into Caffè Sansone in Naples instantly told me I was in the right place.
Vincenzo Sansone, the owner and barista, personally greeted us and started thoughtfully assessing our coffee preferencesânot just taking an order, but curating an experience. The quality of the beans, the variety of brewing methods (from espresso to Chemex), and Vincenzoâs deep expertise far exceeded what Iâve encountered even in top-tier cafĂŠs across the globe.
For those curious about the story: Vincenzo founded this cafĂŠ in 2012 and went on to train extensively in sensory analysis, roasting, and specialty preparation. He now roasts his own beans in-house and passionately serves coffee as both an art and a science.
The coffee was so exceptional, I took one to goâand thatâs rare for me. I highly recommend pairing your drink with a croissant and sitting in the cafĂŠ to fully enjoy the atmosphere. If youâre lucky, Vincenzo himself will be behind the bar, crafting your coffee with precision.
A must-visit for any coffee enthusiast passing...

Caffè Sansone in Napoli is an absolute revelation for anyone who truly appreciates world-class coffee. The Reanda Coffee Fuly Aha was roasted to perfectionâsmooth, clean, and full-bodied. The chocolate and orange flavor notes were beautifully pronounced, offering a bold yet refined tasting experience that lingered long after the last sip. Without question, it was the best cappuccino I've had anywhere in Italyâexpertly textured milk paired with espresso that actually sings.
But the real standout was the El Salvador Vega Amacâa sensory delight. The fruity notes of lemon and peach were bright yet never overpowering, striking a perfect balance that shone both in a filter drip and through my Aeropress. Itâs rare to find a microroaster that executes such complexity with such finesse.
Caffè Sansone isnât just a cafĂŠâitâs a destination. Passion, precision, and a deep respect for the bean make this place a must-visit for coffee connoisseurs....
