Absymal service. We ordered SPECIFICALLY TWO tagliatelle al ragu's and ONE Caprese Salad. We waited patiantly for our food to come, only to be faced with TWO tagliatelle Al Ragu's (Correct!) and not ONE but TWO Caprese Salad's (INCORRECT!). This was clearly the waitress' mistake, as I can assure you my Italian may not be fluent, but I know the difference between UNO and DUE (fingers were also pointed to indicate, so a bit unsure on how we ended up in this predicament.) Despite this, upon pointing this out to the waitress behind the counter, we were greeted with a face like utter thunder as well as a plate full of attitude. We simply requested a simple refund for the one salad we did not order. In return, I felt ridiculed, belittled, and targetted due to the way in which the waitress was shouting at me, although I did not understand her so I dread to think what foul words were escaping her mouth. In my humble opinion, a refund is no big ask. In fact, I know it is no big ask as I work in hospitality myself, where I was always taught customer is KING. TO ADD TO THIS, after being specifically told this establishment would not be providing table service, after eating our plethora of salads, we were baffled to witness another table directly in front of us RECIEVE TABLE SERVICE. This felt like utter ridicule at our behest. In addition to this, despite the fact that the restaurant is not busy in the slightest, the tables are FILTHY. We had to clear our own table, something which I was really quite disappointed with after a long day of running away from Italy's LETHAL wasps. Will not be returning, do not recommend. Read moreI was extremely skeptical that this would be an acceptable meal, but the menu and the prices were enticing and I had a 90 - minute wait for my plane.
It was terrific. My meal - a very generous prosciutto platter, a just-right bowl of spaghetti and a bottle of mineral water -- arrived within 10 minutes. The waitress was very kind and helped me to figure out where to go collect my bottle of mineral water, as I don't speak Italian and was a little confused by the process after paying. About 5 minutes after she delivered my order, she checked back with me to make sure everything was acceptable, and was sincerely happy when I said, 'YES!' She also gave me a cheery farewell as I exited. It was a nice touch of warmth on a busy day enduring the predations of Ryanair.
The only disappointment was that the bread was a bit stale, and I would have appreciated a glass for the mineral water. The vacated tables could have been cleaned a little faster, as well. The prices were about 20% more than reasonable. But these are minor points! Because the pasta, mozzarella di bufala, and prosciutto were sublime. Ample portions, bright, fresh flavors, served the minute they were ready. Great service! Sincerely friendly faces, comfortable seating and no pressure to vacate the table when done (though I didn't linger).
I would definitely eat here again. The main concern is prompt service and food quality, given the time pressure and the pricing, and it succeeded on both counts. Thanks for a bite of Italy on my transit...
Read morethere is this girl at the cashier, rude attitude, think she is the boss of the restaurant, absolute no customer service. She left me hanging at the cashier, and she would rather wipe the counter than take my order. After that, I was not sure of how to pronounce the food name, and so I pointed it in the menu, and this she says, and I quote:
"Speak, can u not speak?" Very impatient for no reason, I guess the counter is more important than the customer.
After that, I said I want my steak medium well, and she said : "medium or well", with an eye roll before saying!
Lastly, she just stare at the machine in front of her, passively expecting me to say I'm done ordering, which obviously I just stand there and wait for paying, and she rudely say to me, "are you done or not? If you're done why are u not telling me?" I'm the customer here, and she treated me like im begging for free food.
Plus there's literally not busy at all, so I don't see where that attitude came from, could be her being racist, but I dont wanna assume, just stating the fact that the service sucks, and she should be working inside the kitchen if she don't wanna put a fake smile and be friendly to the customer. I was there 6 Nov 2024, 6:30pm, for the management, please do take this seriously, never have i seen such rude service.
Food wise, the potato taste rubbery and cold, not sure if this is intended. A bit pricey for just 7 small...
