Taverna Greca Al Fistomba — Restaurant in Padua

I was initially likely to recommend this place,... Then I waited an hour between finishing my meal and flagging down one of the waiters who were thoroughly attentive to most others. After that time, I waited a further twenty minutes for my coffee and dessert, while they continued to mill about and chat with others, one guy wandered off with a woman to come back more cheerful after, and spotted another having a cheeky drink from the beer tap. Wildly unacceptable, truly aggravating service. An apology was made for the dessert delay, but no recompense made for any of it.

That said, the food was real tasty, a good break from the Italian food I'd been smashing into my pallet all week, and the location by a park is nicer than being sat out on the street like most...

Seated quickly without reservation. Staff were kind and realised we were too hot so closed the blinds and put the ac on. Starter came quickly - we shared halloumi - which was hot and tasty. We had the mixed plate for 2 which had a huge amount of meat - 2 chicken, 2 pork and 2 lamb skewers - all delish. Also 3 kofta - a little soft in texture for me. The beef skewer was tough and the minced skewer ok. There was also some nice roast veg, chips, olives and tzatziki. Overall excellent value. The wine (frizzante) was good and excellent value. Staff tried to engage throughout and were friendly....

Sono stato alla Taverna Greca al Fistomba ieri sera a cena con amici, era la prima volta per tutti ed è stata una autentica scoperta. Siamo stati tutti molto soddisfatti sia per la bella ambientazione, sia per la cortesia e gentilezza del personale, sia e soprattutto per la bontà del cibo. Porzioni abbondanti, piatti preparati al momento, vasta scelta, sapori genuini che riportano immediatamente alla Grecia. Inoltre io sono vegano e ho trovato con immenso piacere dei piatti a menù adatti a me realmente squisiti, evitando di farmi sentire come spesso accade un cliente di serie B laddove il più delle volte gli altri miei commensali hanno non solo una scelta molto più vasta della mia ma piatti belli, ricchi, interessanti, abbondanti mentre io mi devo accontentare di piatti tristi, insapore, banali e scarsi. Ieri anche io ho mangiato bene senza differenze rispetto agli altri. Alcune recensioni si lamentano di tempi lunghi di attesa ma a mio avviso non si è tenuto conto del numero elevato di coperti e del fatto che molti piatti sono preparati al momento. Al solito: se si vuole andare in locali grandi e mangiare in fretta si vada nelle catene di fast food o dove si usano preparazioni surgelate e industriali. Va invece apprezzato chi si sforza di portarti in tavola cibi buoni, effettivamente preparati sul posto e in modo espresso. E comunque per noi i tempi di attesa sono stati assolutamente accettabili e per nulla fastidiosi. Mica si è in pausa pranzo, si è fuori la sera in un ambiente allegro e festoso per godersi una cena in compagnia. Insomma, da padovano, son felice di aver scoperto nella mia città questo angolo di Grecia e non posso che...
