We don't usually stay at non-hotel chains, but I am glad we gave Villa Italia a try. We were headed to the DMB show at the Palafabris venue and Villa Italia was within walking distance!||From the time I requested information till the time we said good-bye, the treatment we received was first class! We didn't have much time to explore the grounds, but what we saw was lovely. A huge gate welcomed you onto the grounds. The main building was undergoing some water/sewer upgrades while we were there, but it never interfered with our stay.||Our suite, the Ines suite was on the first floor and towards the end of the hall. The room was large!! A small foyer as you walk in and the bathroom was off the foyer. Stand alone shower and a great view of the grounds were also part of the bathroom!||We had windows that opened, which was appreciated. A small basket of snacks (for a fee) and a well stocked mini bar (for a fee), free safe and plenty of closet space, desk, chair completed the room.||There is no elevator, just beautiful marble steps to walk up. There is a lovely seating area just outside the rooms on the first floor. Parking is free.||I have nothing but praise for this 'hotel' To me, it is located near a commercial area of town, with a supermarket, shops, eateries very close by. I am glad I took the time to search the area for a great spot to stay at. There is a multi story hotel across from the venue, but from what I was told, Villa Italia offered so much more in the way of comfort, internet, charm......||Breakfast, included in the rate was perfect, again, meats and cheeses, croissants, fruit, juice, coffee, perfect to start the day!||There was a bar as well as on-site restaurant. I wish we had more time to stay here...if we are in Padua again, Villa Italia would be...
Read moreWe decided to have dinner at this restaurant again, based on our wonderful experiences in previous years during the Christmas and New Year season. The ambiance and decoration had always been lovely. However, this year we were deeply disappointed. We made a reservation in advance and were informed by the receptionist that the kitchen was only serving pizza due to a special event. We agreed and arrived around 8 PM. The waitstaff were polite and professional, though it took quite a while for our pizzas to arrive — which we didn’t mind. For dessert, my partner ordered tiramisu, which was served in a tall glass that made it difficult to eat. While this was inconvenient, we were still willing to overlook it. The real issue arose at the cashier. We were shocked to see how overpriced our bill was for just two pizzas. When my partner pointed out a possible mistake to the middle-aged cashier lady ,her response was dismissive and unprofessional. Instead of addressing the issue properly, she offered with a very rude attitude to return €1, which felt completely inappropriate for a fine dining establishment. This experience was far below the standards we had come to expect from this restaurant, and it left us disappointed. We hope the management takes these concerns seriously to ensure a better experience for...
