First, I wanna say the good things and then say the bad things which are most non-related to food. We went expecting homemade Italian food like the title of the restaurant and we got that. A lot of food cheese bread, entrées from local markets Michele is very nice and receptive , we were well received. Pasta Ragu was good. Cannoli was good. Cheese was good.
Now for the bad things. First we felt pressured to stay in the restaurant after learning their process was a little different. First they only offer a single menu that costs €25 per person. It is a lot of food so it’s definitely worth it but we weren’t that hungry, however we only learned it once and we were sitting and we felt pressured to stay in. Also, they didn’t accept debit card or credit card only cash but Michele said the ATM was five minutes walking so we could pay after eating. We were well served the entrées and bread were really good, however, both both pasta needed more cooking time. They were harder than al dente. Probably two more minutes. The sauce was good. We ordered Ragu and Pomodoro. The other problem was when it came to pay. Michele said the ATM was five minutes away, but it was actually ten to go and ten to come back so after eating at noon, I had to walk 20 minutes in the sun to pay, and the ATM had a 5 euro fee.

La mia esperienza presso Trattoria Familiare da Michele & Jolanda è stata assolutamente deliziosa. Abbiamo iniziato con una ricotta con olive fatta in casa, che era semplicemente eccezionale. Si poteva davvero gustare l'autenticità e il sapore fresco degli ingredienti. Il fatto che sia fatta in casa nel villaggio di Corleone aggiunge un tocco speciale.
Successivamente, abbiamo provato un affettato di formaggi, che era una vera festa per il palato. La selezione di formaggi era varia e deliziosa, perfetta da accompagnare con un buon vino.
Per il piatto principale, abbiamo optato per le pene con il pesce e le pene con la salsiccia. Entrambi i piatti erano preparati con maestria. Il pesce era freschissimo e la salsiccia aveva quel sapore tradizionale che si associa alla cucina italiana autentica.
Il personale era estremamente cordiale e attento, rendendo l'intera esperienza ancora più piacevole. Hanno reso il nostro pasto un momento indimenticabile.
My experience at Trattoria Familiare da Michele & Jolanda was absolutely delightful. We started with homemade ricotta with olives, which was simply outstanding. You could truly taste the authenticity and fresh flavors of the ingredients. The fact that it's homemade in the village of Corleone adds a special touch.
Next, we tried a cheese platter, which was a real treat for the palate. The selection of cheeses was diverse and delicious, perfect to accompany with a good wine.
For the main course, we opted for the pasta with fish and the pasta with sausage. Both dishes were prepared with expertise. The fish was incredibly fresh, and the sausage had that traditional flavor associated with authentic Italian cuisine.
The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. They made our meal an unforgettable moment.
Meine Erfahrung im Trattoria Familiare da Michele & Jolanda war absolut köstlich. Wir begannen mit hausgemachter Ricotta mit Oliven, die einfach hervorragend war. Man konnte die Authentizität und die frischen Aromen der Zutaten wirklich schmecken. Die Tatsache, dass sie im Dorf Corleone hausgemacht ist, verleiht ihr eine besondere Note.
Als nächstes probierten wir eine Käseplatte, die ein wahrer Genuss für den Gaumen war. Die Auswahl an Käsesorten war vielfältig und köstlich, perfekt begleitet von einem guten Wein.
Für das Hauptgericht entschieden wir uns für Pasta mit Fisch und Pasta mit Wurst. Beide Gerichte waren meisterhaft zubereitet. Der Fisch war unglaublich frisch, und die Wurst hatte diesen traditionellen Geschmack, der mit authentischer italienischer Küche verbunden ist.

Luckily the owners had their door open right next to the entrance and when they noticed us standing in front, they told us they had their day off but then offered us to open up the restaurant anyways to cook for us. Such a lovely start!
We then entered what almost felt like a small living room with just a few tables and a television running in the corner.
After choosing a few simple dishes from the small menu, we had one if the best culinary experiences in Palermo.
Starting with what’s probably the best homemade ricotta with olives, followed by outstanding caponata and artichokes, rounded off by a delicious selection of cheese, alongside freshly baked bread.
