We took a reservation at the last day of our holiday in this restaurant.....
My wife orders a Cocktail and my 2 little girls, 2years and 4years old, like a Mocktail instead to get the tropical feelings along the lake.....
The waiter took the order and proposed to us that he could make 2 glasses out of 1 mocktail for the little girls.. meaning that we only had to pay for 1. Good idea!!
The waiter goes to the bar and makes the drinks we just ordered by his own and returns as proposed with 1 cocktail for my wife and the mocktail separated for the kids.
Not even before i finished my steak,, my 2 year old starts to act really strange......not listening to nothing, screaming, hitting me...
I taste a small drip of the 'mocktail' and realize directly that there is alcohol in this drinks.....
Mad as I am,, i ask the waiter to check what is going on!? He comes and tasted at the drink and directly says: Nooo this is not alcohol!!!! This is the taste of Lime!!! I order your drinks myself and i prepared my self and i brought them to you. I know 100% that this is not alcohol....
In the meantime my little 2 year old who drink almost the complete glass,, is not to handle anymore.. screaming, not listening, going crazy....
I had no nothing to stand on and i accepted what they said. The waiter took of the €15 from the drinks and told us that this was all they could do.
Walking back to the hotel,, my 2yr old is going crazy.. still really drunk in my opinion. At the hotel we had a pharmacy that was still open at 21:00u. And yes,, they have alcohol tests!
After testing it was 100% clear that my 2 yr was drunk and my 4yr only drink 2 little nips of it and was still sober!!
This is the moment I returned to this restaurant.
After talking to 6 waiters and everybody telling what happened in this place.. they finally were gettin the owner....
She tells me after everything: I think that U seperated the glasses wrong in your own! Still not accepting the mistake the waiter makes. After explaining again and the waiter also agreeing.. they started to say sorry sorry sorry...
They returned our...
Read moreMy recent visit to Vecchio Mulino Bar & Restaurant in Italy was nothing short of a disaster. I genuinely don’t understand how this place gets any positive reviews — it’s completely overrated.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the staff had no idea what they were doing. I asked for a table and was sent from one waiter to another — after being bounced around between three of them, we were finally seated. That should’ve been the first red flag.
We ordered drinks, which shockingly took longer than the food to arrive. Mind you, this place has no air conditioning — it felt like we were dining in a sauna. As if the heat wasn’t enough, we were constantly swatting away mosquitoes and flies that were landing on our food, our glasses, and even our faces. Absolutely unhygienic and unacceptable.
We ordered three pasta dishes — one of them from the children’s menu, clearly marked as “gratis per bambini” (free for kids). The waiter confirmed it would not be charged. But of course, when the bill came, we were charged 6 euros for the supposedly free dish. I only noticed this after walking about 300 meters away from the restaurant — and frankly, I was too exhausted and overheated to go back. But make no mistake: this is outright stealing.
This place doesn’t deserve your time or money. The service is disorganized, the environment is miserable, and the way they sneak extra charges onto the bill is shameful. I strongly advise you to avoid this restaurant — there are many better and more honest places to...
Read moreAtmosphere and food are excellent, however, the portions are small for the price.
The service was very poor. After being sat for over 20 minutes we had to ask two servers separately if we could order. There was no attention to detail as they were missing orders at other tables all around us. We had to ask twice for the bill and still wait 10 minutes after. The 2.50 service charge per person was certainly not earned. Probably cause they know they can’t earn the tips with their poor service.
In summary, there are better places to spend your money and time. Great place to take pictures but you can do that outside this restaurant without going in.
Reply to Fabio Gambini:
We didn’t receive your famous bread until after our meal came and we didn’t receive any oil. So you might actually owe us a euro or two back. Bread is a bit underwhelming. Bread at PASTA SALAME is complimentary and better tasting.
We ate at 1830. Not exactly a dinner rush hour. The restaurant was only a third filled, you had plenty of empty tables for later reservations. Your staff told us that it was a service charge. Doesn’t matter, cause PASTA SALAME is better and I recommend your DIFFERENT APPROACH being learning from them. Try less justifying and be better, not resting on previous...
