Cucina di Ventura — Restaurant in Polignano a Mare

We were so lucky to find this lovely restaurant on the main street outside of the old town. There were very few folks dining, but the menu really looks good and we had some great seafood as well. Starting with a big plate of muscles cooked in tasty broth with garlic and onions and tomatoes. We moved onto a daily catch, two whole fish, linguini pasta with mixed seafood along with a side salad. A bottle of white wine topped everything off for a reasonable 75 euros.

The proprietor is a huge music fan and allowed me to play the guitar which was a whole lotta fun. They play really great music on the stereo and have an interesting collection of photographs and instruments on the wall there. Non fatevi trarre in inganno dall'ambiente a prima vista semplice e informale, la qualità dei piatti è TOP e il personale è molto accogliente e la loro competenza e simpatia si abbinano perfettamente con l'ambiente, creando un'atmosfera che si può trovare solo a cena a casa di amici. La zuppa di moscardini era deliziosa, la pasta cotta perfettamente con i vari condimenti di pesce molto freschi e saporiti. Il fritto misto aveva un'impanatura delicata e molto digeribile, cosa che non si torva dappertutto. Anche il vino ottimo e a prezzo onesto. Consigliatissimo a chi cerca un’esperienza 100% italiana, autentica e lontana dalle trappole per turisti. Grazie di cuore a Giuseppe, al Sig. The place is simple but welcoming, with excellent dishes. The baby octopus soup was delicious, pasta perfectly cooked, and seafood very fresh. The mixed fried seafood was light and digestible — which is not something that you find in many places. cooked to perfection. Wine was also great and fairly priced. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a 100% Italian, authentic experience, far from tourist traps. What a find! Amazing home cooked traditional food and the most beautiful staff!! The maître d’ can’t do enough and all the food is cooked by a single chef. It’s not fancy but the food is top notch and there are photos all over the walls of patrons that have visited. I would rate this one of the best meals I’ve had in Polignano A Mare and it felt like I was eating like a true local. They serve complimentary olives and bread to start which is a nice touch.
