Martinucci Laboratory — Restaurant in Polignano a Mare

I’ve got this place recommended, by someone local. I was surprise by selection. But when it comes to the service, it was very messy. First we stayed in the line, where we wanted to ask and point at the things we want, as some of them were missing name tags. But we were sent to the counter - basically there were two queues, so people didn’t know where to take an order and pay. Finally, when it was our turn, to take the order we asked only for one ice cream and one savoury dough with some parma, mozzarella, rucola and dried tomatoes. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Martinucci, and I must say, it was an experience to remember. Among the variety of delicious treats, the traditional Italian cookie, Pasticciotto, truly stood out.

From the first bite, I was transported to pastry heaven. The delicate, buttery crust perfectly balanced with the rich, creamy filling—this was easily the best thing I've ever tasted. I regret not taking a picture of our ice creams We are Italians and we know good ice cream by experience, and this is the worse in Polignano Ice cream texture was watery and there was no flavor at all. Not to mention we ordered 2 scoops and the ratio of the scoops was 90/10. A massive scoop of one and just a smear of the 2nd scoop. We were speechless!!
