Il Santuario Ristorante Pizzeria e aperitivo — Restaurant in Pompei

Worst i have ever been treated. I was all day with my familly on the Vesuvio and Pompei Museum. We were very tired and the children stoped for an icecream here. I decided to get 2 beers for me and my wife to drink while they eat the icecream. I was inside and I took the beers directly from the bar and payed both the beers and the icecreams. Then i went outside and sat, all five, on a table. After a minute a waitress came and told us that we are not allowed to sit at the table, neither to eat icecream nor to drink beer. I asked her what can we do to solve this inconvenience and she told that we are not allowed to sit there and that’s it, she didn’t offer any possibility to sit there. She told me that the children had to eat the icecream on the pavement in front of the restaurant and the adults had to drink the beer on a table inside (standing) that was occupied at the time. I have to say that at the time there were many free tables (more than half of them) and i haven’t seen other people with food on there tables. Greediest persons ever: they encourage you to pay and get the products and then they tell you that you can’t stay at the table outside; you have to stand at the table inside while your children eat the icecream outside near the street. Visited the restaurant with my friends. The service was really slow, we waited our food for over an hour, even though the restaurant didn't seem to be full. The waiter said that they had ran out of mozzarella, but the table next to us got dish with mozzarella. Two other tables were served before our table even though we arrived significantly earlier. The food was average and so were the prices. We complained about the slow service, but the waiter didn't care. Definitely would not visit this...

The pizzas at Santuario are creative and tasty. Especially the Pizza Sorrentina and the Nutella Pizza are worth to try out. During our stay in Pompei we vistited Il Santuario twice with a group of 12 people and they easily managed the group (with other guests in the restaurant as well). Behind the restaruant building there is a nice garden, but sometimes it gets quite loud. The prices of the Pizzas are reasonable and the owners are hospitable. We would definitly visit it again...
