Ristorante Pizzeria La Scogliera — Restaurant in Ponza

With the exception of its unremarkable location, I really have little to say in the negative about La Scogliera. But definitely seek out this wonderful place. You really won't eat better. Considering Ponza is somewhat stranded in the middle of the sea, it makes perfect sense that the seafood dishes are fresh and prepared in a deceptively simple, unadorned manner. Take for example, the calamari alla griglia. I was served a whole calamari grilled to perfection served on a bed of arugula, with just a drizzle of olive oil, and a wedge of lemon on the side. It was fresh, delicious and satisfying.

Aside from the seafood, you will also get some remarkable pasta dishes. Wonderful and assorted selection of thin crust pizzas, mouthwatering wine selections, and traditional Italian desserts also mark what this restaurant offers. Highly...

They are swindlers.

They tried to rip us off by suggesting a dish that was not on the menu. They served us a poor quality fish selling it as "swordfish".

When we realized the fraud, we complained and they didn't even want to talk because they knew we were right. They maintained a totally disrespectful attitude towards us.

Bad customer service, rude owner, zero respect for the clientele and the good product.

Scortesia, prezzi esagerati e pessima qualità. Ci è stato portato un menu e da subito abbiamo notato prezzi molto alti. Ma poi uno pensa che sei a Ponza, ad agosto, e quindi chiudi un occhio. La cosa a dir poco fumosa è stato notare che una voce del menu era coperta con il bianchetto. Rimaneva visibile solo la parola “spaghetto”. Così abbiamo chiesto al cameriere di cosa si trattasse e lui ha detto che era lo spaghetto con i ricci che però avevano sostituito con uno spaghetto alle vongole. La vera sorpresa è stata notare che sul conto voce era la stessa e il prezzo pure. Quindi 22 euro uno spaghetto con qualche vongola (non arrivavano a dieci), insipido e che sapeva di burro. Il giorno prima avevo cenato in un ristorante di gran classe e per lo stesso prezzo avevo mangiato delle linguine meravigliose con bottarga di tonno e agrumi, accompagnate da una tartare sempre di tonno eccezionale, in un locale bello e non fatiscente come questo dove ho cenato su sedie di plastica verdi e all’interno dove si moriva di caldo. Sorpresa finale? Hanno portato il preconto al posto della regolare ricevuta. Abbiamo dovuto chiamare il titolare che se l’è presa con il cameriere che sicuramente non c’entrava nulla.
