Da Antimo — Restaurant in Porto Cesareo

You couldn't tell from outside, but the inside of the restaurant looks simply amazing. The service is near "white glove" and the servers look experienced. The food could be better, wasn't bad for sure, but considering the prices and the presentation I was expecting more. Service wise, once the restaurant was full, we were left behind on our table without service and had to call down a waiter few times to order a desert, which never came. After 30 minutes of waiting for a desert with 2 small kids, we gave up and went to the register to pay our bill. I guess seeing us leaving, the waiter who mainly served our table came to ask us for deserts (even though we already ordered them 30 mins ago....) and to take the empty plates, that were sitting there for good 20 mins, but we already made our mind of not waiting anymore. If the attention to the customers is improved, this could be one of the best...

Despite the great reviews and local recommendations, our experience was very poor.

I ordered pasta with lobster, but it was just plain pomodoro pasta with half a lobster on top, small portion, no seafood flavor at all — a total disappointment for 25 euros. My wife’s spaghetti alle vongole tasted like plain pasta aglio e olio with clams that had no flavor.

The only decent dish was the polpo in pignata, but that worked more as a starter than anything else. Service was also slow: 40 minutes to get a table and another 30–40 minutes waiting for the food. After all that time, we expected something much better.

Honestly, this was the only place in Puglia where we ate badly. Everywhere else was great, but here the food simply...

Ate here last night and it was one of the worst meals I've had in a long time.

The veal steak was overcooked and incredibly tough making it barely edible. None of the staff checked back to see how the meal was until after everyone else had finished eating, they offered to cook me something else but by then it was too late. Could have offered to take the dish off the bill but they didn't, complete waste of 25 euros.

The place was packed and had a very frantic atmosphere. Clearly not enough staff to handle it, everything felt rushed and that obviously reflected in the quality of the food.

Definitely one to avoid if you're looking for a nice meal in...
