Category: Fine Food, Tourist Area. One of the best things about this bistro was that it was only a few meters from our villa. But that was luck. The best thing about it was the commanding view of the Mediterranean and the Amalfi coastline, situated as it is on a rooftop high above the sea. The well-spaced sea-colored fired-ceramic-topped tables integrate the restaurant’s view of the sea with the sea itself. Our friends had already dined here before we arrived and liked it so much that they returned with us. No less wonderful than the view were the extensive menu and the food. We were pleased to see that the menu is printed only in Italian and English (Italian-only would have been okay too), so the restaurant seemed less touristy than others that print the menu in every conceivable language. We were also pleased to see that this trattoria offered its own varied menu choices, not the same fare parroted by many others. We were very happy with the Caprese Salad (an Italian classic), with airy-light, fresh, local mozzarella. I enjoyed my choice of fresh linguine with sea urchin, olive oil, and garlic. Sarah loved her personal-sized pizza with mozz, sausage, and mushrooms. I also enjoyed a slice the next morning for breakfast. Our friends both ordered the risotto, of which they reported the deliciousness. I tasted it and agreed, and was impressed with its unique presentation, kind of a thin layer spread across a wide flat- bottomed bowl, which enabled it’s incredible richness to be absorbed slowly. The wine list was extensive, and was arranged by Italian region. I was a little disappointed that more local inexpensive wines were not offered. We don’t like to spend much money on restaurant wine. So we chose an inexpensive bottle from Puglia. The service was excellent, but remember: this is Italy. The servers are not bothersome and mostly await guest requests. If you want something, ask for it and they will quickly accommodate. I look forward to dining here again. YouTube’s...

My family and I ate here twice during our recent visit to Praiano. On the first visit I had a very average piece of salmon; in hindsight I should've ordered a 'proper' fish from their fish display fridge (it looked and smelled delicious as other people's were being wafted past our table!), but was advised that the portion size of those fish was for 2 people (I love fish so I think I could've managed a whole one!) The rest of my family scoffed down their meals with relish - pizzas and cotolettas.

On the second visit my husband and I shared the 2-person Chateaubriand which was TO DIE FOR. Genuinely one of the best steaks we have ever tasted - beautifully tender meat (cutting it was like slicing through soft butter), a lovely salty sealed surface, and some delicious grilled vegetables and other accompaniments which I think were perhaps garlic plant stems and micro herbs - REALLY pungent garlicky/oniony flavours. Absolutely divine.

The staff here offered great service; all so friendly and nothing ever seemed too much trouble. This certainly hasn't been the case everywhere we've been in Italy but the guys here at La Moressa are a class act.

If you're visiting in summer, make a reservation so that you can guarantee a table on the terrace and enjoy the changing colours of the sky during sunset, or look out over the lights in the hills on Praiano at night.... and order the...

My husband and I arrived to praiano after what felt like one of the more treacherous trips of our life, lugging suitcases up the postitano stairs from the port then haggling with taxi drivers to make the trip over. We were starved and sat down around 3pm only to find lovely attentive staff that could see our hunger and promptly got an order going.

We each had pizza and honestly it will go down as one of the best bites of food I’ve had during a 2 month euro trip through France/ Italy. It’s truly perfect: not too much sauce, not an overbearing amount of cheese and the perfect chew on the crust. Not pictured were the tiramisu and lemon delight.. good enough to make you cry tears of joy.

It was so good we came back 2 days later for dinner. The staff were just as friendly and attentive, only this time we had a front row seat on their terrace overlooking the coast for sunset. Lol what! Imagine eating an exceptional pizza with this view without fighting any crowds like in postitano. Insane!

Yes there is a cover charge and the prices are on the higher end (was pricier than some places in Postitano) BUT 1) every place on the coast charges you cover, at least you get great bread, olive oil and service here 2) I’d rather pay more for a great, memorable meal than a few € less for something average.. which has been the experience everywhere...

The highlight of our order — and the most expensive item — was the scorpion fish. We were expecting it grilled, but it turned out to be a pasta dish. With such a rich tomato sauce, it was hard to truly taste the fish, and paying €60 for pasta felt a bit too much. To be fair, this might be partly our own fault — we probably didn’t ask enough questions to fully understand the composition of the dish before ordering. On the positive side, the terrace view is absolutely beautiful and creates a lovely atmosphere for dinner. Parking can be tricky — we managed to find a spot about 700 meters away on Via G. Marconi, at €3 per hour. The parking meter only accepted coins, and I was lucky that our waiter kindly helped us pay via the EasyPark app, which I couldn’t download myself due to App Store restrictions. Just a tip: the coperto charge here is €4 per person, so keep that in mind when budgeting your meal.

Was here for lunch with my wifr when visiting Praiano for the day. The food here is in my opinion off the charts - I had the Napolitan style pasta and my wife the special of the day which was seabass. They were both just so good; best restaurant food we had when traveling in the Amalfi coast (only beaten by food we had in a cooking class which was just perfection). We also shared a desert, some sort of cold biscuit which I had never tried before, but loved it, and I'm not even a fan of deserts. The location is also excellent. Overlooking the ocean, just a perfect place to have some wine with excellent Italian food. Highly recommended.
