This was the worst dining experience I have EVER had! In Europe, in the US, in Mexico... 100% the worst experience. Let me start by explaining we were staying nearby and noticed the restaurant was empty every night. We thought it looked nice, so my husband and I figured we would give them the benefit of the doubt and give it a try.
When we sat down, we ordered a Spritz and a glass of their white wine. 25 minutes later... no drinks.. while 4 staff members are standing around talking and there is ONE other table in the whole restaurant with customers. We asked where our drinks were and I guess they "forgot" (since we were 1 of 2 tables and all..) so they scurried to make them... TEN minutes later they brought out the glass of wine and the hugo spritz. The Hugo spritz tasted like apple juice. it was NOT a hugo spritz. i kindly asked just for a plain glass of prosecco. they insisted on making me another spritz or an aperol and i asked for a glass of prosecco, again. 8 minutes later.. another hugo comes out. tastes terrible again like all juice. I said please just bring me a plain glass of prosecco only. They then come out with an aperol spritz another 5 minutes later. This spritz tasted like just aperol with sparkling water and no prosecco. I did not drink it... we got our food, which was actually pretty good... then the waiter comes by and says "Miss i can bring you something else to drink.. whatever you want if you dont like it." I said oh its ok.. he insists on bringing me something else so i said do you not have prosecco? He says yes we do (even though it seems my spritz didnt have it in it).. so he brings out a glass of prosecco, now an hour later since being seated. The bill comes and they charge me for the aperol spritz they took back that i did not drink, and the prosecco. I said "please take the spritz off, you insisted on getting me something else, and I was happy to not drink it." One of the waiters says "no you drank the whole thing and then asked for something else I saw it." I was like you have got to be kidding me! You approached me and asked to make me something else! We argued for a second and i said "look there is a reason this whole restaurant is empty- its the service! Look around you!” He then told me "No it’s because of people like you!" That statement is what entitled me to write this review. To blame a customer from another country on the fact that their restaurant is empty and they have terrible service? We were not checked on ONCE while these 3 young men twiddled their thumbs in the corner over 30 empty tables and 4 total customers between 2 tables. We even saw one couple get so frustrated they got up and left. For such a slow restaurant you would think they would want to push more menu items but they never asked if we wanted another drink.. dessert.. any other food.. nothing. All we had was the octopus starter and the linguine between the two of us. We watched the 4 servers stand there and talk the whole time while the two tables sitting there were given 0 attention. I tried to provide them with some service and wanted it to be good, but now I know why it is ALWAYS empty at all times of day. SAVE YOUR MONEY- DO NOT GO HERE. Complete waste & rip off. I wish no one to have this experience.
Sadly the chef is actually good… I hope he can find somewhere to cook with better staff.
OH last thing- there was a $3 euro cover charge per person. In the menu it says “cover charge includes bread, oil, and vinegar.” We were given no bread. The whole thing is comical actually as...
Read moreCategory: Seaside bar/restaurant. After walking down the seemingly endless steps from our villa to the beach, we were ready for some day drinking. This restaurant has a great outdoor patio overlooking the small beach but we only wanted drinks so we sat inside. A wedding was held there the night before, so the windowsills were festooned with white roses (don’t expect fresh roses all the time). It was a hot day, so the cooling breeze wafting through the wide open restaurant interior, and its shade, were as welcome as our cocktails were refreshing. The interior is dominated by a long, decorative fishing boat beneath stone arches with a mural of the sea view. With white, wood-topped tables and blue-and-white tile, I’d say the place has a great Mediterranean feel if that didn’t seem redundant in view of its location. But it does. If we had worn our swimming togs we could have had a dip and sip, enjoying both the sea and drinks 🍷. Looks like a good place for dinner too. YouTube’s...
Read moreThis was the worst and most expensive meal we had in Italy. The staff was completely indifferent (rude). The pasta with shrimp was 27 euro and was inedible- it had spaghetti that tasted like it was cooked in old clam water and had one single shrimp on top- it smelled so awful I was afraid we would get food poisoning from the few bites we tried (luckily we did not). The poke bowl was tasteless and consisted of rice, lettuce and a few straggly pieces of smoked salmon and tuna. When my 10 euro glass of wine arrived it was 1/4 full (literally 3 sips) and I initially thought they had picked it up from another table as someone’s leftover. They gave away our table after we had made a reservation and the woman who takes payment grabbed my card and processed it without even looking at me. I gave it 2 stars bc the pizza was actually pretty good. But overall, as our last lunch in Italy it was a major disappointment. Don’t ruin your holiday by...
