We ate here twice and I know, shame on me. But I really wanted to give the benefit of doubt after the first time. Again, shame on me
The second visit really got me riled up. I asked if we could sit indoors or under the heaters outside to which we were told 'no, they're booked' - even though there were so many free tables... again I gave the benefit of doubt again, silly me. Me and my elderly parents dealt with the cold, it was freezing and we didn't think to wear layers hoping we would be able to sit indoors for dinner. We ordered food. An hour goes by (just like the first visit), by this time we were freezing and all the tables i had pointed out WERE STILL EMPTY. So i asked again, my parents were struggling. I see the passive waitress ask their snotty man-child manager with the fake tommy hilfiger (or whoever he was, he was clearly running the operations - terribly might i add), to which he didn't even look her way or our way once and shook his head and continued to walk up and down looking busy/important but was anything but.
We continued to watch them let people without bookings be seated at these tables while we were held captive at our freezing table with zero regard. The disrespect floored me. Tourists really are treated differently here i'm sad to say. We have been met with nothing but kindness in all other places in South Sardinia.
The food finally arrived. Calamari tasted like tyres, a rip off for the price, my dad's steak was blue when he had asked for a medium - had to have it sent away - another 20 minutes... his 'chips' were actually crisps again a total rip off. And my pizza was disappointing, the cheese tasted like plastic and there were 2 courgette flowers...
The menu is beyond weird, seerving sushi and pizza... make your minds up.
All in all, save yourselves, there are much better places to eat. There's a reason the pizza is cheap, staff are rude, and food takes over an hour to arrive... I've had better pizzas...
Read moreUpon arriving at the restaurant for dinner, we were enticed by the enticing sign outside advertising "Today: Chicken Soup." With eager appetites, we took our seats and awaited the chance to peruse the menu. To our surprise, the waiter informed us that the menu was accessible only through a QR code scan. This posed an issue, especially with our elderly parents who are not accustomed to such modern conveniences.
After some initial confusion, we managed to order drinks, which arrived promptly. When it came time to select our main course, we were disheartened to learn that the only options available that day were pizza and sushi. Given our location in Italy, the idea of sushi seemed out of place, and pizza felt repetitive as we had enjoyed it the day before. Despite our disappointment, we reluctantly settled on pizza, feeling somewhat compelled as the initial draw had been the promise of chicken soup.
The pizza, when it arrived, was passable in taste, though not exceptional. One peculiar aspect was the inclusion of pickled pearl onions, an unconventional topping that left us puzzled. Nevertheless, we all managed to finish our meals.
Upon requesting the bill, there was a delay before receiving it. Subsequently, when inquiring about payment, there was a miscommunication, leading to a somewhat awkward exchange where I had to move inside to settle the bill with my credit card.
Throughout our dining experience, there was a lack of communication and assistance from the staff, compounded by their limited English proficiency. Queries in English were often met with responses in Italian, further adding to the frustration of the evening.
Regrettably, based on this experience, we have decided that we will not be returning to this restaurant...
Read moreI’ll start off with saying the pizzas were formidable. However
I found the service quite awful… it’s been happening quite often on our trip in Sardegna. But at S’Incontru, when asked if we can just have a table(it was empty but we found it rude to just sit so we asked), we weren’t even acknowledged, when asked again the waiter started to speak to a local.
We then sat at a table. He then brought us some paper with a QR code for the menu, we asked if we can have physical menus as our phones were nearly dead and couldn’t use the internet as we wanted to keep our battery for the bus. The waiter then walked off without saying anything and left us. He then brought the menus. We then asked for 2 pizzas, water and a beer.
When the stuff was brought I asked if I can also have the beer which I asked for and then it was finally brought after 20 minutes. I then was about to smoke as there was an ashtray on our table and I was asked to not smoke and pointed in the direction of a sign. It’s not a problem if we can’t smoke, although we were outside not inside but why was there an ashtray on our table?
I found the service awful, although the pizza was really good, I wouldn’t recommend this place due to the...
