This family run restaurant is rather unique! Highly to recommend!

Having high end food in a casual atmosphere, this is Matilda.

////// The food was excellent and very thoughtful. Many products come from farms around Brunico and are organic if possible. Homemade juices and cordials are used for the aperitifs and it makes up for the "street food" feeling of everything being very fresh, tasty and quick!

I ate here now several times and every dish was delightful! The menu changes daily, always with a vegetarian option. The meat has been in the Smoker for most of the day, so be ready for extra tasty dishes.

The service staff is young, their laid-back attitude is very welcoming and they are quick on the foot!

Not to forget its location next to the soothing river. Around 9pm the slight cool breeze is very refreshing!

We showed up for drinks at 5 pm, knowing dinner started at 6 pm. We sat down, and they served us drinks then ignored us. We were left with menus that had food and drink on them. At just after 6pm, we asked to order more drinks and food, and they informed us that the table was booked for 615pm. We thought the staff may have been trying to ignore us, if they had informed us earlier there was no room, we would have no issue. Hungry and frustrated that we weren't told sooner we went elsewhere.

I still don't see where I could have made a reservation prior to showing up, maybe...

Il Ristorante Matilda di Brunico è stata una piacevolissima scoperta, un luogo dove creatività e buona cucina si incontrano in modo sorprendente. Fin dall’ingresso si percepisce un’atmosfera unica, informale e accogliente, ma soprattutto originale: l’arredamento è un mix bizzarro e affascinante, con pezzi vintage e materiali di recupero che raccontano storie diverse. Ogni angolo cattura lo sguardo, dai colori vivaci alle soluzioni creative come i posaceneri realizzati con la parte superiore delle caffettiere moka, un tocco geniale che aggiunge personalità e carattere al locale. Nonostante l’uso di materiali semplici, l’insieme trasmette uno stile deciso e curato nei minimi dettagli.

Anche la cucina è all’altezza dell’ambiente: piatti gustosi e ben presentati, che uniscono sapori della tradizione a piccole rivisitazioni creative. Ogni portata dimostra attenzione, passione e una ricerca di qualità che si riflette nel sapore.

Un posto ideale per chi ama mangiare bene, sentirsi a casa e lasciarsi sorprendere da un ambiente fuori dal comune....
