Lo Sdrucciolo Cocktail bar Gelateria — Restaurant in Radda in Chianti

During a post dinner walk we passed this place and took notice of many people drinking and eating along the wall/sidewalk opposite the restaurant.

Staff were welcoming upon entry. It was busy but they made sure we understood the ordering process. We grabbed a couple 6 euro aperol spritz and took them across the street to hang out. The staff were running snacks out to those sitting across the street.

Sono stato al Bar Sdrucciolo e, purtroppo, non posso che esprimere una forte delusione per l’atteggiamento del titolare. Al momento del conto, ho fatto una critica educata e oggettiva sul pane, palesemente surgelato e di scarsa qualità, ma ho anche espresso apprezzamento per i drink e per il tagliere, entrambi buoni.

La risposta? Il titolare è uscito dalla cucina con un pezzo di pane in mano, sostenendo con tono infastidito che si trattasse di pane toscano, lo stesso che “si trova ovunque”. Peccato che la sera stessa, a pochi metri di distanza, abbiamo cenato alla Taverna Squarcialupi, gustando pani e prodotti da forno artigianali di altissima qualità, fatti da loro. Il confronto è impietoso.

Trovo inaccettabile non solo il fatto che venga servito un prodotto surgelato e dozzinale spacciandolo per tradizione locale, ma soprattutto la totale incapacità di accettare una critica costruttiva. In uscita, ho anche sentito commenti poco eleganti sulla vicenda da parte dello staff.

Il servizio è stato buono, così come i drink e il tagliere, ma l’esperienza è stata rovinata da un atteggiamento arrogante e maleducato. Un vero peccato: basterebbe un po’ di umiltà in più per fare...

We stopped in here for gelato when we were walking about the town. Staff were friendly. I had the nutella flavour, my dad had crema flavour and mum had chocolate sorbet (as she doesn't eat diary). They had plenty of flavours and lots of sorbet flavours too. The ones we tried were all delicious. Ours were €2 each for 1 scoop. They had music playing and a buffet of finger food for €8...
