While getting married close to Radda we asked bottega du giovannino to host 10-15 of our guests during their stay. ||||It started pretty nice, but soon got not nice at all. I went over to the bottega with my daughter to clarify how many guests were coming and how long they would stay, which was a little complicated, but within 2 minutes of my explanation one of the owners (I think) completely lost her temper in a very unpleasant way. She did not listen to my complicated rooming list but instead started interrupting me and shouting at me "just say yes or no!" - while I really still needed their answers on whether they would be able to provide the rooms we needed.||When I asked her to listen to my questions first she was shouting at me from across the counter so the whole rooms could hear and my little daughter was afraid.||||Maybe it was just a spat of bad temper, but all the while the lady's father was standing behind her saying things like, "just take her money and let her leave". Unpleasant was just a start. ||||I got the feeling I had done something wrong that I wasn't aware of. I really am not easily put off and don't normally complain, but I got treated as if it was a nightmare to be involved with our wedding from the moment I stepped in the door. Everyone else was really happy with us. ||||It didn't stop there. She refused to give one of my guests her passport even though we already signed a contract to pay all costs and left a considerable down payment with them, and was not very friendly to our guests.||||I understand they must have been stressed and have a lot to do. But that sort of behaviour is simply not ok. Maybe they're a dream when they're relaxed. It doesn't matter.||||All in all I would not recommend to stay there. Or to be more accurate (since I never stayed there myself) I would not wish for anyone to have to deal...

Read moreWe stopped at the rooms which belong to La Bottega Di Giovannino for four nights.||Monica and her brother David could not have been more welcoming. ||The room we stopped in had beautiful views through the trees of the Tuscan countryside and although it had no air conditioning and temperature was 36 plus deg, the thick walls of this authentic building kept it at a pleasant temperature inside.||Radda itself is a small but well provided for village with plenty of shops and bars and a great base for exploring Chianti and the surrounding area.||We ate at La Bottega for breakfast and evening meals every day during our stay only eating else wear when out during the day.||We would normally eat at a selection of places during a stay but the food that Monica and the team at La Bottega made for us was so good we just ended up eating there all the time during our stay. It is fair to say that good simple dishes, cooked well, with fresh ingredients are what is served at La Bottega and the passion they have for food shows in the excellent meals we had.||We would recommend stopping or eating here and if we are anywhere in this area again we will be doing so .||Thanks again Monica and David for making our stay in Radda such a wonderful...
