Olinto wine & food — Restaurant in Radda in Chianti

We went on the recommendations of a friend but we were severely disappointed. The prices were not inexpensive but that would have been fine if the items were worth it, they were not. The venue , while small, was loud and, for the most part, uncomfortable due to the inability to hold even the slightest of conversations without having to shout over the din of other patrons. Service was slow but would have been fine if the lack of attention included items that were worth savoring. The bruschetta was excellent. BUT…do not get the T-bone steak! While it was priced by the kilo, it was inedible at any price. Fatty, in-chewable, and lacking in flavor. While we thought our steak was perhaps an anomaly, when consulting with the other parties in the room, they agreed that the steak was not fit for human consumption and frankly, I love my dog too much so I would not feed it to him either! We expressed our disappointment to the staff who responded, “well, it might have come from a younger cow.” Not an acceptable response in my opinion. Avoid this tourist trap, the taste of the food was average. The service is bad, the space is small so you sit surrounded by other people and the servings are very small. If you eat a full course with antipasti, primi, secundi, contorni and wine skipping dessert you would still end up 100 euro per person. I would not recommend this place to anyone.i

Olinto needs to be on your radar when visiting Radda. The fresh pastas were divine- chewy al dente texture made fresh each morning. The T-bone steak Florentine was a beautiful cut of meat shared among 4 hungry adults (it’s huge!). My husband got the stuffed rabbit and raved about it.
