Salumeria Barocco - sapori di Sicilia — Restaurant in Ragusa

One of the highlights of our trip, went with a small group and we're seated at a table. The reccomendations that were given by the staff were really helpful especially when she talked about the wine. The cheese platter was amazing, and showcased the different cheese from the region of Ragusa, we went for the local red fruity wine which complemented the local flavours. Very nice and warm place to eat sicilian food. The waitress was really professional and always had a warm smile. She explained to us the menu, yet quite limited, in detail. She was always open to help us and had a keen eye for detail, providing us a magnificent service. The food was delicious! All the meats and cheeses plus the vegetables and sauces we added to the combo (sorry for forgetting its name) were an explosion of flavour. Dopo aver girato per la bella e pittoresca Ibla, fra vicoletti, palazzi storici, il Duomo di San Giorgio, ecc... abbiamo iniziato a sentire un certo appetito, essendo anche investite da profumi di pietanze invitanti. Abbiamo iniziato a guardare cosa potesse fare al caso nostro, considerando che non volevamo piatti elaborati e nemmeno appesantirci... et voilà, eccola lì, che richiamava la nostra attenzione e curiosità: la Salumeria Barocco! Perfetta per noi. Non appena entrate, per capire come funzionasse, la titolare mi rimprovera perché non avevo messo su la mascherina, cosa che per me denota serietà di questi tempi, ed una certa attenzione alla clientela tutta, ma anche per loro stessi. I locali sono gradevoli e puliti, ha quel non so che di salumeria d'altri tempi, con quel bancone ricco e pieno di salumi, formaggi e leccornie. Prodotti da acquistare a vista e ben riposti, ed una cantina di vini per me più che buoni. Una volta sedute al tavolo (che era stato preventivamente igienizzato e pulito) ci raggiunge il personale che ci espone un po' di info; non abbiamo atteso tanto. Così ci è arrivato un tagliere completo di varie tipologie di prodotti TUTTI rigorosamente tipici della zona, uno più buono dell'altro, da assaporare seguendo un percorso gustativo, che abbiamo accompagnato con un bicchiere di rosé e la birra Tarì (pure tipica della zona), e del pane condito. Abbiamo concluso con il dolce, ideato dalla proprietaria, che è stata una vera esplosione di gusto e piacevolezza per i sensi. Consiglio a chiunque si trovasse a passare da Ibla di fermarsi presso la Salumeria Barocco: competenza, gentilezza e cordialità, pulizia, freschezza dei prodotti... insomma un'esperienza da fare senza dubbio.
