Bella Vista Sul Mare — Restaurant in Ravello

Really beautiful view but if I am to be honest the food did not really amaze me. We got the caprese, an AOP&anchovy pasta and a lemony pasta with shrimp, and a fritto misto dish. The best course was the caprese. The pasta was not very impressive flavor wise (a bit bland) but the seafood in it is indeed quite fresh. The fried seafood mix came with little fish bone-in (which we are fine with because Chinese people usually don’t take the bones out of fish anyways) and shrimp shell-on. The fish is quite hard to eat due to the small size and the bones are not soft enough to just chew up and swallow like for example eel bones are. I have had fried shrimp shell-on in Amalfi where the shell is very crispy and does not hurt the mouth but this was not the case for these fried shrimps. You have to chew and chew and chew for the shell to feel soft enough to swallow without injury. The calamari was also quite chewy. We had a nice spring day lunch on the restaurant terrace with a beautiful view. We ordered a bottle of sparkling Falanghina, starters and mains.

For starters we ordered the caprese salad and bresaola. Both simple but fresh dishes. For main, we ordered trofiette pasta and lamb chops.

The pasta came in a hearty portion and looked and tasted positively homemade. The lamb chops were very tasty but the potatoes on the side were soggy and tasted more like leftovers from the day before.

The restaurant is celiac friendly and can accommodate most dishes as gluten free versions. They also offer gluten free bread on the side.

Our total for 2 entrees, a pasta, a second and a bottle of sparkling wine was €114 which is roughly the average if you are eating out at any restaurant with a...

Così ti metti alla guida percorrendo uno dei posti più belli al mondo, la Costiera Amalfitana e da Vietri dopo una splendida crociera in auto decidi che basti il prezzo di una seppur splendida ma estenuante fila in auto e perciò al momento giusto prima che lo scoraggiamento prendi il sopravvento all’altezza di Ravello / Scala viri per il Ristorante “ Bellavista sul mare “ un po più defilato dal centro turistico di Ravello.

Posizione : Incantevole, il ristorante sorge sulla parte sinistra del duomo di Ravello e la sala ha una balconata separata da una ampia vetrata con tre piccoli tavoli dal quale si ammira tutta la costiera da Ravello a Salerno che di notte deve essere particolarmente suggestiva inoltre scendendo giù dal Ristorante dopo qualche rampa di scale ci si trova a ridosso del duomo. Ambientazione: Abbastanza lineare classica senza sfarzo con colori rosa/bianco, pavimentazione in granito rosa lucido con una ventina di tavoli tondi per quattro posti intervallati da qualche colonnina e da vetrate ad arco lungo il perimetrale Forse essendo un ristorante di un albergo pecca di qualcosina, un po’ più di estro e raffinatezza il posto lo richierebbe sicuramente. Cucina: menu equilibrato terra e mare con classici piatti di mare, con le specialità di mare impiattate bene senza troppi ghirigori e rispettando il sapore che non manca di certo. La frittura di mare merita, fragrante con pescato fresco e nelle giuste proporzioni, ma anche gli altri piatti sono ben valorizzati. VOTO: 8 e 1/2

PREZZI: Non alti ma nemmeno bassisi, va da pennette al pomodoro 10€ a paccheri ai gamberi 22€ al ravioli ripieni di baccalà , specialità della casa a 25€ a una ottima frittura ( ne vale la pena ) a 20€. Un po non proporzionati per formato/prezzo sono le bibite, una lattina di coca da 33cl 3.50€ o di acqua a 3€ o i dessert altisonanti nel nome e prezzo e non nella sostanza . Per esempio due palline piccole di gelato ( pollice e indice ) 6.50€ ( la gelateria fuori al ristorante 2€ ) VOTO: 6
